Hi,

I have a 2009 335I With pro nav (cic), DAB radio, base audio & voice control, I spoke to bmw for the Alpine retrofit kit, Gave them my Vin number & they got back to me saying it can not be fitted to my car because I have DAB radio.

Does anyone know why having the DAB radio fitted would stop me from having the Alpine retrofit kit on my car.

Because BMW wants to put it in the same spot as the DAB module and they only will put it there.
If you go to the DIY section there is a bmw procedure for the installation.
The wires in there kit are all of a length such that they fit there.
This is not a great upgrade for the money either.

Dab goes in the same place the SAt module would go in a US Car which is where they want to put the Amp for the Hi Fi upgrade in there DIY procedure.

well the 2009 car is lci and so may be DAB module already integraded to CIC
make photo of the space under rear backrest under middle cover
if there is no module in the left part of it you can install alpine kit

So there is no module on the left side under the floor in the boot, Just a TCU on the right side.

Based on that I would say BS on BMW .
The member Makkann00 you to do installs
in the London area I don't think he does them
anymore but you may be able to get help form
some of the other
UK guys in this thread.
