Around 7% off msrp before incentives should not be too difficult, although you might need to contact a lot of dealers. I found it was possible to get a bit more than that, but not much. Out of 15 local dealers contacted, only 3 gave decent offers

I got a little over 10% off before incentives.
My local medium market dealer wouldn't give me anything close to that, so I sent an email to the sales managers at all of the bmw dealers within 100 miles specifically stating what pricing I expected to get and that I needed an allocation now. I had 2 of the 6 respond favorably and ended up getting a great deal! |

You should be able to get a bigger discount on a 530/540 compared to a 550. Also, a new 2018 on the lot should be discounted even more compared to a 2019. Order vs on the lot wont make much difference. Of course, YMMV

I ordered my MY19 550 back in August. Agreed to just under 6% off MSRP at the time, then to take whatever incentives BMW offered between then and closing (we were hoping for some good year-end promotions).
Turns out the year-end stuff was a bust, so the only other thing I got was a $2k conquest and $1k financing incentive (plus the current promo rate). I'm sure I could've done a little better if I blasted out emails or drive around to other dealers or whatever, but it was very nice doing business with the dealer 10 mins from my house where I'll be doing all my service, could quickly swing by to poke at options while I was configuring, etc. I paid a little more for convenience and am okay with that. |

It's not too hard to get $2k Under invoice on a M550i.
Finding an available unit on a lot will be the tougher task.Alocations are not too hard to get though. |
