Sweet, I like the M logo on the red calipers. Where did you get those?

Also are you interested in selling one Blue front caliper? Would be an awesome paperweight on my desk -LOL

Looks really good! Those wheels have a nice big window to show off the brakes.

I got the brake package from BMW through my indy shop. Apparently the ///M division has different levels of brake packages and the one I got was the one recommended for my vehicle. I will be selling the blue calipers as package once I get them cleaned and itemized. Just realized I spelled brake wrong.

If they are can you put part numbers?
Thanks

These were sourced through my independent shop and are OEM ///M level brakes and rotors. I'll get the pricing and part numbers together.

So how are they now that you've had them a few days... do you notice any stopping difference or are the REDs more about lower fade during track conditions? are they smooth during stop and go and daily driving?

Hi all,

Took awhile to get the parts listing as they only showed M Sport Complete Brake Up Grade on the invoice. I paid ~$5700.

Reason I went with the upgrade:
- Picked up my car end of July 2017
- Required brakes December 2018 (bit of a heavy foot)
- Was going to cost ~$4200 for same rotors and pads
- So for ~$1500 more I decided to upgrade

This is my daily driver. I put ~43K km's on it when I did the upgrade. I did notice the difference in stopping during daily driving, especially during traffic. Sometimes there were some instant stoppages which could be a little jarring due to the situation but most times it's a smooth firm stop. Overall they work great!

Haven't gotten around to cleaning the BLUE calipers but will post them when done. Not sure what I'll be pricing them for as of yet. For inquiries please contact me here: tim@cyberstream.ca

Here is the parts list:

Thank you very much for your the effort and time to put the list together.

GetBMWParts list G30 M Performance brake kit for $2,795 US. https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...QtNGwtdjgtZ2Fz
Is that basically what you've got ?

I just can not escape a suspicion that those red and blue calipers differ in colour only. If true, that would mean that one has to fork out a whole whack of dough, especially in Canada, for a change in caliper colour as well as somewhat larger diameter rotors (dimpled too).

Is there a difference between the calipers? They appear identical with both being 2 pot making me think that I'd just get the drilled rotors in the future.

They look the same but Reds requires 19' wheels, blues can go with 18'. So there must be differance.

Hi All,

Yes the Red calipers are bigger than the Blue ones to accommodate the 19" rotors. Believe me, if I paid that much just to have Red calipers of the same size for an upgrade, I'd be having words with my Indy shop. I will try to post a pic of the Blue caliper beside the Red one. But as you could see in the pic above with the "AT" logo the Red calipers almost touch the edges of the white sheet while the Blue one is clearly smaller. Given that there's some skew and angularity to the pic but you can still tell.

Haven't had the chance to clean the Blue ones as of yet. Work's been a bitch.

Called dimpled rotors. Supposedly similar to cross drilled but can handle higher stress loading. Dimpled rotors are more commonly used on heavier sport vehicles such as trucks and full size cars.

Hello HellzAzn, could you please share some of your driving experience with the upgraded brakes, such as any noise when applying brakes, brake pad dust accumulation on wheels, braking action feel (progression) compared to the M Sport brakes, and such.

Incidentally, I believe the BMW instruction for M Performance Brake Kit retrofit on G30 vehicles suggests approx. 3 hrs of labour needed for the job.
My BMW dealer say they need 10 hrs.
Do you mind sharing the hours your shop charged for the installation.

Thank you.
