Just bought CPO car, interior trim coating chipped off
I just got home from out of state driving back the 18' CPO m550i I just purchased. Super excited by the way. Will post pics soon. I noticed this piece of interior trim coating chipped. I'm not really upset, because the spec I got i've been waiting 6+ months for. White exterior, ACC, Full Cluster, Surround Cameras, B&W sound, 20" 668m wheels. Piano black wasn't by first choice trim, but the icing on the cake was Leather Dash, Alcantara Head Liner and Night Vision.
Does this look like a defect or something hit it? Would CPO cover this? Can I replace just that aluminum piece or do I have to buy the whole shifter surround piece?

Call your selling dealer and send him a pic. I would think that they will easily take care of the piece for you. Also, the only piece that would need to be replaced is that surround trim piece.

Should be covered under the original factory warranty unless the dealer decides you caused the problem. If that happens check with another dealer. If BMW denies it that it is tougher to get it covered by the dealer. --Bob

According to Real OEM, it appears that you need to order a set. It includes the entire cover panel, ash tray cover and front cover.
I would check with your local parts department, but I’m quite sure it’s all 3 pieces.

This is definitely the kind of stuff you want to leverage before the purchase is final. Not saying it's a reason to pass on what you want or a good deal. But in my experience, dealers have no motivation for little things like this, once the sale is closed.

Funny depends on the Service advisor took my F10 for service came out to be Catalytic Convertor was bad the she said it's not covered under any TSBs etc guess what went through a friend who knew another SA at the same dealer and they fixed the whole thing under extended warranty bulletin. I know it sucks but that's how it is.

yes it number 1. you'll need to pop out the cover for cup holders super easy the cover above that super easy and the cover around shifter super easy. give parts last 7 of your von they can tell you the price. unless you know your trim.

I guess they will not cover that, I also got mine from there. After driving home I found the floor mats were missing, the salesman was helpful and sent a new set to my home on the same day.
