Sunroof exploded

This happened on one of our G30s (19 MY) a few months ago and was covered under warranty, Southern California area dealer. Car was also being driven on the freeway at high speeds and the glass shattered spontaneously. I would push hard to have it covered and escalate to BMWNA Customer Relations if necessary.

Separately, you should file a NHTSA complaint (https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/) to help keep track of these issues.

Wow that is scary. I never have my shade closed, frightening to think about.

I would not expect this from a German vehicle.
