Headlight washers are for winter driving. They remove road salt/snow/slush which does effect light output. I think you can disable them by pulling a fuse. (Don't quote me on that never tried)

I recently drove a ~2022 BMW 530i loaner and the start/stop feature was on when I picked up the car. I disabled it, but the car turned it back on a while later. Strange.
When my 2023 X5 40i is warmed up (about 10 minutes) I go into sport individual mode where I have engine, tranny, steering set for sport except I have it on "comfort" suspension for a "leisurely" drive. It's not the stop/start that I don't like it's the quicker pickup and stiffer steering in sport mode that I love.

I think it may be the other way around re the fenders...at least when I was researching the Alfa 4C, they had relatively 'hideous' fender bulges for the US version.

Only time I use it is when I'm stopped at a draw bridge. But even then I still don't use it))

I think it is safe to say that the Start/Stop feature is for the people that do not use this forum.

I use it in moderate traffic. Definitely saves a bit of fuel.

What I cannot stand is the function that starts the motor automatically based on the traffic light signals.

I'd like to turn it off if possible, but I can't be bothered searching through the endless fucking menus.

If anything tempts me to go back to an older car it is the tech faff overload.

More of an average than an absolute.

I do not feel that reflects positively on the forum, TBH. I think some of it is snobbery or misguided purity

... on average, not an absolute, of course.
