Fuel tank and etc...

Hello,
I am coming off F10 550 and currently own 2018 G30 M550. The fuel talk on F10 was 18.5 gallons. When the range was close to Zero miles, I was able to fill about 17-17.5 gallons of gas. From my research, G30's gas tank is 18 gallons. On G30, when the gas is displayed at 1 gallon left (based on BMW Connected app), it displays about 40 miles range left and I typically can fill about 17 gallons. What that means is that range left displayed is not accurate and there is no gas reserve in G30 as it was in F10.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks

My thoughts: Don't run down to 1 gallon of fuel... The fuel in your tank is what cools the fuel pump (which is inside the fuel tank.) You're asking for pump issues if you run it down so low on fuel that it operates hot too often.

More thoughts on this... last refueling, app showed 0 gallons and 22 miles left. I pumped 18.2 gallons... not sure how that can possible on a tank that is supposed to be 18 gallons.

I noticed a similar thing with my F90 M5. The fuel tank capacity is listed as 20.1 gallons in the specs. The fuel gauge was showing that there were 7 miles left. When I filled the gas, the pump went to 19.2 gallons and continued running, so I stopped it because I was afraid it was going to overflow. It seems that once these cars show 0 miles left, there really is pretty much no gas left in the tank... This was not the case in previous models.

Yeah, as far as my f10, it showed 0 range and I usually still had 1.5 gallons left in the tank

2018 530e (Hybrid) - MPG much lower when battery not charged

i have a 2018 530e XI.
I charge my car every night. i have ~14 miles of one-way highway commute (~28 miles round trip). BMW advertises that fully charged battery can give you about 13 miles.

1. I don't think I get that.
2. When the battery is fully drainded out, car feels heavy; the slider on the dashboard states that I am getting a sub-10 miles per gallon! i have tried to adjust the speed, etc...but no luck.

Thoughts?

The harder you drive the less range on battery and/or fuel. We as drivers have the greatest input to how we eek out the battery mileage.

There are a few topics in this section of the forum, where users give their experiences of how they get the best mileage out of the 530e.
