My long-time trusted salesman told me the same thing.

Having driven an M550i with and without, I am glad I chose the car with DHP, feels more planted in my opinion. Also an option whore here like Joe that is why it took me 4 months to find a car low miles and every option available. I don't have carplay but that isn't an issue for me as I am not an apple person.

Would definitely get a new 2023 over a 3 year old car that excludes a facelift for a difference of 12k. When the 2024 comes out it will be like 2 generations behind and warranty will be over as well.

Mine was nicely loaded (see signature) and I picked it up last September for $67k with 11,300 miles on it. It also came with an extra set of Winter wheels/tires. As others have mentioned you may not get some things due to chip shortages. Little things like Soft Close Doors are a very nice touch. You should have plenty of warranty left on the 2020. Mine is good through Oct 2023.

12k doesn't seem like enough savings - implies the asking price is probably too high for a 2020. Market on that car is probably mid-60's.
We just got a 2020 M550 last month, 23k miles, CPO, well equipped w/ DHP, night vision, exec, etc. and it was over $25k savings from new. Not the cheapest one we saw, likely could have gotten a better "deal" on a different car, but DHP was rare and worth the few k extra.

Agreed. A "fully optioned" 2023 model is probably the same as a "somewhat" optioned 2020. Even when I ordered the 2022, a bunch of options were either missing or removed.

If you're just gonna keep the 2020 a couple of years that would probably be the way to go. If this will be a long term car, then get the 2023, as 12 grand difference is not enough to go the 2020 route. All the 2020's do not have over the air software updates. The 2023 cars have improved look with the LCI front grille and tail lights, and the bigger iDrive screen is nice.

Go with the new unless you will dump in a year or want to chase low 10s or 9s in quarter mile with a tune and other upgrades. Newer/LCI will have full warranty, new headlights and tails, remote start, bigger display, full screen car play, etc.

After keeping up with this thread, probably against the opinions of most, I think I'd choose the loaded 2020 with DHP. But maybe try to get the price down. But that's just me.
