Nothing will be touching the X5, not even a wipe down. I just don’t care about the car that much, but still want to protect it from swirls. I’ll get it corrected and ceramic’d after the winter and then eliminate the touchless wash.
Compared to the M550, you're gonna appreciate how much the Mineral White hides imperfections and dirt. But you prob know this.

Retrofit Boot closure

Retrofit Boot closure as this was missing from the comfort pack
My previous 2013 F10 had this function and i misses it so much closing the boot / Trunk using the button when emptying the car during a gig. Indie charged £900. BUT without the door card updated button.
Did I pay too much ??? what do you guys think

Too much is subjective, if it is important to you, then $1,100 bucks is worth it. Hell, my ceramic was $1,100, my LCI tails were $1,100, my exhaust was $5,000, etc. All fundamentally overpriced, but at the end of the day, if it is a priority for you then mission accomplished.

So you don't have an interior button (which I am sure you can buy the button panel and code it easily (bet this is expensive, look on ebay), but does your FOB open the now powered trunk? Do you have the kick option to open? Just curious questions.

I’m personally obsessed with this feature. Going rate in the us is around the same but in usd. I know because I wanted it badly in my last car (f30 328) I don’t think you overpaid. If it noticeably makes your life easier, it’s worth it.

You guys ever put just shampoo in your foam cannon, 1:10, and use that as a touchless car wash?

I was thinking about doing this with Lift, which is not a shampoo, and doing touchless washes outside since it's cold and then drying with a towel in my garage.

I wouldn’t recommed it. Neither lift or reset will get it clean enough in winter without agitation to able to dry it with a towel and not scratch the paint. Try 1:10 of lift then blow dry to keep the salt at bay.

Seconded. But agree it’s a good way to keep the winter off it, even if you didn’t dry it at all.

Every time I wash it I strive for touchless. If you’re talking winter salt, grime and sand, nothing touchless is going to work to get it perfectly clean. As other have said, foam it, gun it and live with the water spots until you can do it right.

I did install it on my own. It was my first time installing a spoiler. If you don't already have one, it is super easy. The hard part is removing the old, not the spoiler, but the adhesive left behind. Here are my tips assuming you have to remove one, I did, if you don't skip to the tape off part:

- Use fishing line to get under the existing spoiler and rock it back and forth like you are cutting (you are), but pull up toward the old spoiler and not down against the trunk paint.
- Wedge a vinyl tool in as you cut through and move it along with the string. This will keep the old spoiler from readhereing.
- When off, you will be left with 3M tape on the trunk. Forget about using Goo Gone or anything else. It does not work.
- Get yourself a 3M Automotive Adhesive Eraser Wheel from Amazon or your local Auto Parts Store, this attaches to a common cordless drill.
- Hold the drill REALLY tight and keep the spinning wheel ONLY on the adhesive. Move it left to right over the adhesive. Keep it moving, don't leave it in one spot. The key here is to not hit the paint outside the adhesive. All the 3M tape will come off in less then 30 minutes. Keep your drill as 2500 RPMS or less.
- now wipe down the area with Alcohol. This is to remove and wax, ceramic, etc coating.
- then wipe down the same area with 3M adhesive promoter. I opted to have RW include the new tape and promoter in my package.
- place the new spoiler on the trunk where you want it. Use painters tape to create a "V" on the ends where the spoiler is centered in the middle of the "V" and not on the painters tape. This is your marker or guide.
- Turn over the new spoiler and put a strip of 3M tape along the top and bottom edge of the spoiler, leaving the red tape on one side.
- at each and of the spoiler, peel a little red take back and fold it over to the top of the spoiler and tape that down with painter tape, this is your "rip cord".
- Place the spoiler on the "V" that you created. There is a little adhesive exposed because of the rip cord. This will allow you to position it perfectly on your V marker.
- when you are happy where is is sitting, push down on the edges where the tape is exposed which will lock it down on the ends, then sart peeling your rip chords and pressing down as you move along.
- Done

Hope this helps, feel free to hit me up with any questions. Mine came out perfect. I did lose the wheel a few time which created a scuff or light burn on the clearcoat outside of where the spoiler sat. My detailer got it out as part of my paint correction. If you can avoid it by holding the drill tight, you will be fine. The RW CS Spoiler goes in the same place as the OEM tiny lip, so you will be covering this area.

I got my Audison AP8.9bit installed in my ex vicpol 530d. Combined with aliexpress Harman Kardon speakers and subs. Originally I only had the H&K speakers and subs installed but this is a crazy difference.
If you have a 530d with the base audio the H&K speakers and subs are a good upgrade but the amp is what makes it blast. Combined with the bowers and Wilkins coding.
kinda tempted to buy the B&W speakers and tweeters on aliexpress

Just finished washing & drying the G31, it had gotten rather mucky yesterday I used my new microfiber wash mitt & it's excellent, took around half the time to wash it.

Will give it a polish later & try out my new lambs wool polishing mitt

Pleased to report that after the poonami his poo is firmer today & he’s much better thanks

I suspect that his little episode had something to do with him helping himself to my Mc Donald’s vanilla milkshake that I’d left on the coffee table, & came back in from the kitchen to find that he’d picked it up & was tipping into his mouth & all down his front..I obviously haven’t mentioned this to Mrs Chappers as she had told me not to go out & leave my milkshake where Frank or Bella could get hold of it.
I had to snuck him out into the garden & give his head & chest a hose down to wash away the smell of sour milk a couple of hours afterwards

I just did rinse, reset foam, rinse, blow dry. Didn’t feel like getting the mitt out but there was concrete work being done the garage at my office and I didn’t want that dust on the car when it rains again.
