Coding hands off alert
Is there anyone on here that can code off the hands off alert for the driver assist? There was one guy who from Germany in here who said he does it, but he might be full of shit. He ghosted me on Whatsapp.
So, anyone else with the knowledge to do it? Disclaimer: for off road use only for scientific research on a private closed course with paid professionals. Do not try or attempt at home. Keep your hands on the steering wheel at all times.

To my knowledge I onl saw someone did change the speed where it activates. It is not possible to delete it completely but the speed it activates can be changed.

I had it done by someone in Germany and it worked fantastic. He did a perfect job with it. I've driven 80 miles on the highway w/o having to touch the wheel once (safely, while paying attention; not like Tesla autopilot drivers). I have to remind the dealer not to update my software so I don't lose the feature.

I have no idea what the coding is (I'm not a tech guy). Let me reach out to the guy who coded it for me and see if he's ok with my providing his username here

Coding hands off the wheel using the driving assistance
Hi guys,
I'm actually new to this platform and saw your post just now unfortunately. It is for sure codeable (deactivation) but, I have found a way around to change the deactivation interval in seconds. This way this feature will stay on and will be safer than without. I am working on it right now. I'll post later on today the parameters that needs to be changed. Coding will be available for pre-lci & lci models Greets, Taylyan |

A little update of the process going on in the background. I did the coding and it did work BUT, I really DO NOT RECOMMEND you doing this. The car is simply not made for it and I doesn't keep the car in a straight line so well after coding it. It literally wanders too much! This didn't happen before coding the car. The car felt much more stabilized and secure. You just have to tap the steering wheel or put a very light pressure with your thigh to the steering wheel while allowing it to rotate freely. I have reverted the coding on my own car. Do this at your own risk! Because of the fact that this coding will possibly leave you in a risk, I will not post the coding steps here to prevent everyone coding it and regarding it afterwards because of an accident! The members who however consider to try it out, send me a private message please. PS: I have a pre-lci G30. It would maybe function better on lci models. I didn't tested it yet on lci models Greets, Taylyan Last edited by BMW_E_F_G; 01-11-2024 at 02:18 AM.. |
