I'm experimenting with StoNSho quick release front license plate options. I have not adhered this yet and am holding it in place for the picture. I will definitely give it a shot, but for those with experience with how sensitive this sensor is to blocking, do you think this will get in the way of functionality?

No you will be fine I literally just today installed new plate holders and they come down a similar amount below the fender/bumper.

To be sure I took the car out for a test using double sided tape first.

No issue at all on my car ACC works fine abs that's with a much wider euro plate.

Encouraging! I SO hope this works. I hate the tow hook option. 1-I hate the way it looks. 2-I want to keep it on as little as possible, so even the quick release options will leave me staring at the exposed tow hook box.

What did you use for a product? Sto-N-Sho by chance? I am hoping I can just use the 3M double sided tape and not drill a hole. It's the underside but I don't want to put a hole in it if I don't have to. The risk will be it flying off on the highway and the remote chance it damages the car. That would be something that would happen to me.

I'm in Europe so have a front plate anyway permanently mounted.

I only changed the surround to a gloss black one that hangs down further similar to yours.
