We continue our progress.

VIN assigned and car has gone into production today👍🏼

Talked with my CA today. Didn't get the best of news. Saying from the In Production status they've been seeing around a 10-12 week turnaround time before it shows up on the lot. Biggest delay seems to be coming from the Port side.

Thanks for this. My 540i cruised through production and has been sitting in Bremerhaven port since 10/14 (eight days). I'm now in my 8th week since I ordered and the dealer at the time said it would be 8 to 10 weeks.

My vehicle finished production Monday and has been "awaiting carrier assignment" ever since.

Congrats on your order! Did you find it difficult to secure an allocation?

I have been shopping around for a G80 as I really want my first M car, but my experience thus far has been dealers not wanting to talk to me or wanting a non-refundable deposit, credit check and purchase agreement just to get on a waiting list for an allocation, which I find absurd.

I am at the point where I may forego the G80 (I have a Ducati for fun anyway) and consider going with a loaded G30 540i instead although it is a completely different animal. The other option is just waiting until early 2023 when supply chain issues hopefully improve.

No trouble securing the allocation. Had I pushed harder probably could have had the dealer switch one of their existing allocations rather than a future one and sped up my process a bit. But then again significant difference in allocations between M5 and the lower variants. Could just be those in your area are having harder time getting them and with how long these turn around times are to get orders in they probably want a bit more security that you're going to buy and them not just have inventory sitting on a lot that's a bit harder to move.

There is a ship at Bremerhaven now that will be coming to the East coast.. If you are lucky, your car might get on it.

Brucelinc Yes, I've been following F32 N55 thread as well and see it got in yesterday afternoon to Brem. I'm hoping for the same but seems like everyone has the Audio Module recall so won't be surprised if mine ends up on that list as well and won't be shipped out this time around. Fingers cross through.

I just got notice that I am on a ship! I too have the notice that the car is missing the audio module but was told by BMW Genius that it can also be installed in Baltimore and it shouldn't hold up your car getting on a ship. I suspect mine just boarded the Hawaiian Highway due to leave today.
