Stupid question: for those that have the stripe on the top of their steering wheels- I like the look, but I don't track nor drift my car. I am thinking of getting a new steering wheel wrap and there's an option to add a colored stripe. Is the stripe a distraction at all to anyone?

Get some tape and install it on your present wheel and see how you like it, or don't like it. Colored electrical tape or other colored 1/2" tape should do the trick.

The same reason that for years I was racing downstairs to fill my coffee mug with hot water to preheat it, then running back upstairs to finish getting ready, instead of just bringing the mug upstairs the night before and filling it with hot water from there.

It's one of those thermal mugs that keeps hot stuff hot to very warm for hours.

That makes a lot more sense than what I was thinking. I used to be an iced coffee guy, but I'm warming up to hot coffee these days.

I have a red stripe at the 12 o clock position - I wouldn't say it's distracting or anything. While driving I don't really give it a second thought. I had my wheel retrimmed with the M Performance Style Steering Wheel theme in mind. The red also matches the dials on the digital display when in sport mode!

The Alcantara is actually darker in person than it shows on camera

I tried dark blue tape as suggested and I'm with you - didn't really bother me after a few days. Where did you get your wheel rewrapped? And nice set up!

Kinda cheeseball, IMO.

If I did it, I would go with a black/anthracite stripe. You'd have a visual aid if you needed it, but it wouldn't be so glaring (and kind of out of place on a non-track car).
