Please Read - Stop Placing Orders for AST Coils!
Sorry to have to do this but I'm at the point where my frustration level has reached its max and I'm typically a pretty levelheaded person.
As all us xi guys know, our options are limited for a quality coilover so whenever a good product comes along we get all excited like we just got our first Playboy. Well when AST finally said they would make coils for the xi, I thought, Great! Yes I was told these would be custom order and take 4-6 weeks and they should be finished by early to mid-Jan. By the way, I placed the order a few days before Thanksgiving and prepaid close to $2k. Fastforward 2.5 months and still no coils, still no firm time as to when they will be getting produced. I finally spoke with Brian yesterday and he acted like I was bothering/inconveniencing him because I was curious if I could get a timeframe as to when I can expect my coils. His explanation was they received a big job from some big show (wasn't really listening because who cares, the man is complaining that they're making too much money, isn't that the point of business. Does that mean you can bail on your other commitments because something better came along??) and that the xi coils are so low on their list of priorities that maybe they'll get around to making the coils in about 3 weeks or so. CLIFF NOTES So all I'm asking is that no one else orders AST coils until they uphold their promise to provide the coils to us customers who have been waiting for months. This also can save you the hassle of you having to run into the same issue down the road and getting treated like a second-hand citizen because they don't give a sh#t about my $2k because that is chump change to them. I'm not one to read into people much and typically give them the benefit of the doubt. But not once did Brian say that he was sorry that these were delayed so severely and for any inconvenience, pretty sad. Not that it would have really mattered anyway but it would have been nice to see that he actually cared. Sorry for the rant, but this is part of what public forums are about, to help others with the experiences of the unfortunate. Go Steelers. Last edited by pits200; 02-05-2011 at 07:01 AM.. |

Some people never learn about business economics and marketing. I learned that 1 satisfied customer typically only tells 2 people about their positive experience. Meanwhile, a dissatisfied customer will tell 10 people about their negative experience.
They think they might just be losing 1 customer when in essence they may be losing much much more. Just because someone doesn't call them and say, "Hey, I'm not ordering your product because of your poor reputation" they'll never truly see the negative effect it has on their business because it's unseen and indirect. |

If it was a credit card downpayment, consider reversing the payment. If you get them and there is a fitment problem or you have ride quality issues, how responsive would you expect them to be?
