This is the free ota map updates for a region like the example of region 3 above.

My op refers to the usb map updates which cover in our case the whole of Europe. Cost is £60 for a year

Something must be wrong with my iDrive system, Im in the US and I haven't gotten any map updates OTA. I'm still on 2017-1.

Check the connected drive to see if the service is booked in for you. You can do this by logging in from the computer or car. If not, you should get in touch with your dealer to sort it out.

This was a problem for me too. Service for ota wasn't registered from the factory with connected drive. Wrote several emails to connected drive and eventually received ota, plus complimentary usb updates for 3 years.

I found the dealer was incapable of recognising the issue let alone finding a solution. And I like my dealer. I stand to be corrected, but I think only connected drive can switch on ota.

I don't expect much support from my dealer either. For mechanical issues, I'm sure they are great, but after my experience with my so called "Genius", I realized they weren't so smart with software issues.

Do you mind sharing to whom you emailed to that was able to solve your issue?

If it's showing as a booked service for you, then there's nothing the dealer could do. You should also logging from a computer to check map selection and OTA update setting. If none of them work, it's time to get in touch with BMW.

I'm on 2017-2 for my region for my 2018 G30. Our 2017 F15 is on the same version. Looks like we're on the annual "up to four times a year" update schedule.

Suggest you check out what services you have "booked" in your connected drive account. That'll help us identify why you are not getting the updates

I did get one OTA update which was 2017-2. My car came with 2017-1. The same holds true for the F15 so I don't think it's settings on my account nor an issue with the car. I don't think all regions get updates as frequently as others. When I called BMWNA a few months ago they said to wait until June and then go see the dealer which I intend to do but I won't make a special trip for this. For anyone interested, I'm in Region-2.

My car (May '17) was still on 2017-2. Checked that the booked service for OTA is enabled OK but obviously not been doing its job. Downloaded the 2018-2 from BMW map downloads (took 1 hour plus), extracted to a stick and stuck in the car's usb. Took about 20 minutes to do the update (UK/Europe).

I also had problems with - following some central updates to ConnectedDrive, I think - my car not having any map updates 'booked'. As well Remote+

Dealer was not that helpful (apart from telling me that, Yes, my account had been reset at some point).

Anyway, after some 'challenging' emails to the ConnectedDrive team, finally all sorted.

I'm currently in the process of downloading EUROPE EVO 2018-3 (all 27Gb of it)... my car is still at 2017-2 even after a few days from correcting my account still no OTA update, hence I'm using the USB option.
