The AC Schnitzer splitter arrived yesterday, YAY…only took seven weeks
Haven’t opened the box to have a look at it yet as I’ve been changing radiators at home these last two afternoons & evenings, all done now….I hate plumbing Grrr. I may open the box & take a peek tomorrow afternoon when I get home from work.

I was thinking of having the splitter & the side skirt extensions painted gloss black but am having second thoughts as I suspect they’ll very quickly get peppered with road rash & that'll just irritate me

Well that's good news... I guess it will come black as the bits you have, mind you on the F31 I expected the ACS tailgate roof spoiler to be black but it came grey primed!

Iv'e aslo had the M performance front splitter on the F31 and I had the 'wings' painted to match the car look great when new but got covered in road rash should have applied PPF over, would have survived for much longer then. So perhaps an option for you?

Yeah, is matt black ‘plastic’ same as side skirt extensions will keep it as is.
Front spoiler is gloss black same as the black body trims.

Going to visit my local body shop, they’ve been going for 40 years & they’ve done a bit of work on my previous bm’s, to get a quote for them to take off & repaint the front bumper, bonnet & the front spoiler & fit the splitter whilst they’re at it.
Will also have a chat with them about ppf

If it helps as a guide or something to compare, I had the front bumper / bonnet / tops of wings repainted and my ACS roof spoiler painted and fitted with a small scuff on lower rear bumper 1/4 painted and trolly ding on nearside arch repaired on my F31. My local bodyshop (who does all the work for Rossiters +ACS) charged me £1350 all in, which I thought was fair.

I don't know about you, but I'd love to see MTG just punch Kamala in that smug face. She is so fucking obnoxious.

Three body shops I’ve been to this morning & none of them want to do any paintwork on the G31, all have said that the paint will be to difficult to match & none of them want to remove the front spoiler either, they all said if I was to take it of then they’d repaint the spoiler & fit the splitter but if I’m going to the hassle of removing the spoiler then I may as well repaint it & fit the splitter myself, so am going to have a look at buying a couple of ramps…as if I don’t have enough to do. Grrr bloody angry

A Question for the Brits here: watching car shows and YouTube videos, many of which are done by your countrymen, it seems like your cars rust out a lot faster than they do here in the colonies. I didn't think you had that much snow to contend with, requiring salted roads. Am I wrong about that, or is there something else going on over there that makes your cars deteriorate so rapidly?

Not so much snow but frost: all treated with lashings of salt and grit. Grit punctures the paint, salt gets in, Bingo rust.

Bodywork much better protected now though with galvanizing and multiple coats on good primer. Underbody plastic has removed most mud traps and wheel arch liners help.

I always hose out under the wheel arches too to remove the mud salt poultice which stays damp for longer and therefore rusts faster.

I like Bernina but it’s been a bit overdone, especially on the g30 m lites there’s loads of them in that primer grey colour

Yeah there are a ton. They went back to our shade of beige for 2023. I keep wondering if I could wait and eventually find a 2023 in “Alvite Gray” with some good options and maybe even a mocha or ivory interior. Would still be another year or two before those start showing up in large quantity off leases, etc.

I’ve only seen one other BMW Bernina grey in the 2 years I’ve owned mine. I love the color but I am starting to see many other similar colors from cars other than BMW. I feel like I started a trend.
