Even if you're missing a LED bar or two, the design is very BMW (see: taillights on the 2er). The number of LEDs and the effect they may or may not have won't change the overall appearance of the taillights.

If I blur my vision and cover the BMW roundel, I could mistaken it for a Lexus ES.

Looks like a mix between F10 (rear) and G10 (front).
Very modest changes, more like a LCI from the F10.
As for the air curtain, hideous - the only place the gotten this feature right, is the F15 and F16.
On any other BMW models, it's just looks like a half baked design element.
Pitty though, it's a feature that should've been done right, it would've been up there with the Hofmeister design on the C pilar imo.

I like it a lot. My main question remains though. Will there be options for the non M5 to make it a truly athletic and communicative car with a unique sporty feel for the segment in line with older funfers or does it continue the direction started with the F10 of having more the character of a sevener? Beautiful and luxurious but also large, heavy, numb, soft and overall a rather uninspiring car to drive.

please no hockey stick like the 7! and have a 20" m sport wheel option, like the 373m please. oh, and lastly, how about a true m sport exhaust? coming from a f12 m sport to the f10 m sport was quiet.

I don't have high hopes that it will drive like a "real" BMW. It is obvious that BMW is going for mass market (complete product line from 1 to 7 series, and x1 to x6. Not to mention new FWD cars and sharing of engines, transmissions and platforms across models). They will probably reserve the real "ultimate driving" experience just for the M cars.

Sad.

The changes to me versus the F10 remind me of the e34 to e39 model updates. All good..but not dramatic differences, making the e60 design change that much more special at the time! I will be waiting to see at least how the mid cycle upgrades look and hopefully a vastly improved sporty sounding exhaust for the M5 before I will consider a next gen though..

I can confirm that there won't be a hockey stick, see profile view of the render . For the rest, I'm sure BMW will do plenty of M Sport parts available for sales!

I get it but dont become Audi, the A3/4/6 basically look the same over the last 10 years or more except tail and headlights.

F10 production ends October 2016. I am sure the G30 will be available well before your lease ends. Just be careful buying an early build G30. Some of us remember your disastrous early build F10.
It would certainly be a lease. I haven't forgotten....

It's a disaster IMHO. The headlights look like they're stuck to the grille and being stretched outward to the point of breaking. Creates way too much visual tension. Like pulling a tendon off a chicken bone. Unfortunately the 3/4 Series and a few of the trucks have this problem too. (But it has been toned down slightly in the 3/4 Series LCI.)

Net effect: "angry cartoon character."

Agree. Audi styling, to me anyway, is conservative / boring / timid.

The G30 was well received at its preview the past weekend.
Some clients found that it is indeed easily distinguishable from a 7er and that its interior is very well laid out with the acquired finesse of the new 7er.

"Some clients" Lol should this inspire confidence?

Serious question, are these opinions going to be skewed to favor the cars since you probably have to have owned several BMWs to be invited to these reveals, or are they more critical because of it?
