Best way to get Hi Res Audio into Bowers and Wilkins system?
I have the Bowers and Wilkins option fitted into my 5 Series and have been experimenting with how to get the best quality source file to play on the system with limited success:
- Standard 44KHz 2ch FLAC files work - Some 6ch FLAC files work, but not all of them and they only play in stereo - MQA files play but it sounds like they are not decoding the extra information Do DVD-Audio discs work? What's the best quality files you have been able to play on the system?

I'm also not sure that the system is good enough to be able to pick up on anything better than 44khz 16bit. As good as it might be I can't see how any car system could be considered audiophile .
Use wav and also lossless wma which has the advantage of no loss of quality, smaller size and also images retained |
