I definitely don't want to come off as a hater. The M2 seems awesome. For the price I'd definitely have it over my M4, though I think the 4 looks a lot sexier.
The lap result discussed between the pro driver and the host was a different one than the one they were driving / shown in this review, they did mention that track (although in subtitle it was translated as "this track") was a horsepower demanding track

I'm not sure the difference in the driving experience is a matter of temperature...
It was done at the early March, the local temp was around 16 degrees Celsius, while the test on M4 was done in last winter when the temp was like below 0 degree.

The track is on the mountain and it is HARD on the brakes. I got to drive the same M2 a week later and the tires are worn and brakes are weak as well. According to the source from track staff, they have been tracking the M2 the whole day while they only took the M4 out for a couple of laps.

Not saying the M2 is a bad car, actually it is a fantastic toy for this type of driving. But I don't think it is fair how the media guys need to praise the M2 at the expense of M3/M4, in order to please BMW China.
zac5 my friend, the test for this M2 was also done in a cold weather as early spring, in the rural districts of Beijing (compare to urban districts), it could be as cold as a late autumn/early winter weather, both reviews were done on the same track called Pinggu circuit as you could see from my screen shots of their conversation.

Although I'm not back in Beijing at moment but my parents kept me posted every week about everything especially I'm flying back tomorrow for holiday so they sure told me enough about the weather and what clothes to bring back lol

I do agree with you about the social media talk to impress BMW China, typical Chines or should I say capital city play :P by the way, in general, Chinese actually likes Merc best then it is the Audi. In fact BMW is the least favourite among the big three, so, go figure.....

Just curious which district do you live and work? I'm guessing you work in Chaoyang CBD

I enjoyed the review. I think the M2 is getting high praise because its starting point (the 2 series) was already better received than the 3 series so it had better bones.

That being said, I sat in one at the auto show and I felt like BMW didn't go far enough to make it feel special. It's rather plain or should I say not different enough than the M235 on the inside and on the exterior they could have added a few bits like the M3/4.
Lol I noticed that too. " other types " ?? Lol.

Hard not to come off as hater when you own an M4.

I know right ?? !

It's the year 2016.... And somehow
Two people in the thread ( not you I know ) have already said " I'm not trying "..........

since I was about 5 years old, I've understood that the moment someone says

" I ain't trying to be a " ( insert stupid statement here )

Then they are GONNA be a (insert stupid statement here ) .

I ain't trying to be a racist....
I ain't trying to be a hater ....
I ain't trying to be a dumbass....

If you are a person whose mouth begins to form the words " I ain't trying " . Then the next thing to actually do is just shut up.

Don't " try "... Instead ... " DO" .

I drove an M235xi 225 miles from southern New Jersey to southeastern Connecticut on Wednesday. 4+ hours of driving, no driver fatigue at all. Mind you, I was driven down in a 328xi 4+ hours to get there.

But the left side of the apple pie does not meet aeronautic standards for the minimum amount of apples on Mrs. Benson's tree.

Just my humble opinion

M2= ultimate M driver machine

M4= Babe magnet

Choose one, you can't go wrong!

Right on! I'm feeling dumb but ok. Anyways I know I sound like a complainer, this series just rubs me the wrong way. Kinda like a song you don't like for like 3 months but then you come around to it eventually after its relentlessly pushed on the radio. I feel like there has been a flurry of products by BMW we are told to like but we may not necessarily want or desire.
