Anyways I joined the forums and have been checking things out. Well it's driving me nuts and I have to voice this to a crowd that understands tastefull modding.

These dudes rock Audi and Mercedes rims on thier VW. It's driving me up a wall. I even voiced my distaste and these dudes are like "whats the problem"... see thread

They also love the ghetto slammed look and air bags and overly stretched tires with the rims lip sticking out. I just don't get it. A lot of these dudes just don't know how to mod a car

I can't be the only person that thinks having OEM rims from another brand looks like crap.

My advice, quit while you're still behind. I used to fight this fight all the time with those guys. You'll never get anywhere with them on this. They think it's the coolest things since sliced bread to do this. One guy out here has a nice new model GTI but has OE 19" porsche wheels and brakes on it. He spent more to do that, to tell everyone that he's got porsche brakes and wheels when he could have got StopTech's for all 4 wheels and some nice BBS's.

It aggravates the sh*t out of a lot of people outside of "their" tuning world, but there isn't anything you can do about it.

I agree with you about changing the centercaps and that it is dropped waaaay too low. However I do think those wheels look good on that car. +1 on the egg comment lol.

However their taste is a lot different from the BMW crowd, some of their stuff is cool/unique, some of it is iffy.

sometimes it's cool to be unique. It seems like every car on here has an M-tech kit and CSL reps or BBS LM reps. Don't get me wrong, those mods look great, but they're everywhere
