M550i....how much off MSRP to aim for?
Now that we are getting to the end of the year, curious what you guys think would be a target for % off MSRP on M550i?
I seemed to have seen $6k off on a few....was hoping to maybe get $10k at the end of the month or early next month. Is this do-able?

I wouldn't say that $10,000 of MSRP is crazy especially if you find a car that has been sitting on the lot for a while. Can't give you he details but I managed to get a little over $12000 off. This may be because I qualified for numerous incentives and an awesome sales manager who wanted to get the sale done. I've completed all paperwork and will pick her up tomorrow!

It's much harder to negotiate a great deal on an ordered car, particularly the M550i which is a new model and not made in large numbers. It depends on your location somewhat, but in wealthy areas it's pretty tough as long as the car is in demand. If demand dies down a bit, it becomes easier, but this can take some time!

I can't give details because I really don't recall all of the details but I think there was a Rebate for $3000 from BMW for the holidays, $4000 dealership discount, a loyalty discount, the Drive to End Hunger was worth a thousand, USAA discount, and BMW fleet discount. Not everyone will qualify for all the discounts. It may depend on the company you work for or certain affiliations. If I were you I would just sit down with a dealer expressing how serious you are about buying and see what the best deal he/ she could offer you. It looks if they are really trying to push sales for the 5 series everywhere.

Mr. Blue, are you leasing or purchasing? If leasing, what do they have you at per month?

I got 7% off plus 2k holiday lease credit on a car which retailed for 93,100. Residual 61% and MF .00152 brings my monthly payment in NY to $1094. I take delivery next week. Drive off is $2200.

Can you break down the 5k rebates? I don't think I have corp/fleet now, and unsure if my x5 qualifies as loyalty. What else is available beyond those and the holiday rebate?

Holiday lease credit $2000 5 series to 5 series loyalty credit $2000 Fleet Credit $1000 You may qualify for fleet credit by mere affiliation to a company on the list. I qualified for it through my wife’s affiliation to big hospital. I was also told to look for a drive event to get the $1000 coupon while waiting for the car, but I can’t find one yet. I think I got an awesome deal for a great car that was recently released. |

Yes, I just found that out but I will look for a drive event and hopefully get a $1000 coupon while waiting for delivery.

BMW periodically has test drive events which you sign up to test drive a car and they give you a $1000 coupon towards purchasing a car.

Thanks everyone. Since I couldn't get the 2k loyalty and 1k fleet I bailed for now. Looks like nothing great in January either. May wait til spring or summer now, especially since I'll have to immediately replace the tires with all seasons if I get it now.

Pretty good deal.....I think I got 8% off MSRP and then also had another $3k in credits for loyalty and for 5 series lease credit.....so $10k-11k off total.

As a person who just ordered one, hold your minimum at 10% off MSRP including all incentives, even custom. They threw that at me right away. Some have done better in high volume markets and if you're a high value customer. But that's a great line in the sand to start from.

I am currently in the market to order one M550i, but only managed to negotiate around 9% off the MSRP. In order to maximize savings, is anyone on this forum interested in placing an order with me. I am in CA.
