Does anyone have a list of the coding features supported in the G30. Is it similar to the last 5? Thanks!

Yes, anything that can be done on F010 can also be done on G030. A couple exceptions exist with speedlocked functions- Manual in Motion does not work & VIM only works up to 63 kph.

Can the hands off time for automatic steering be increased? It right now seems to be something like 10 seconds.

Some of the reviews show about 30 seconds...

It is Driver Assistance not Replacement. As far as I know, you cannot increase time.

Should be built into the software though - maybe just not exposed to change/configure. Also if someone has an accident and they find coding has been done might invalidate insurance and/or warranty...

There are some functions that are rooted deeper in software, while different settings for others are more easily toggled. All I know is that there is no easily defined FDL parameter labeled something like "Allowed Hands Off Time" as well as the majority are in German plus less and less information is displayed as descriptive text because they are based on legacy ECU mapping from F-series.

Yes, driver would be at fault if BMW or insurance companies could prove damages causation.

Under current laws (in Sweden at least, I assume rest of EU is the same) the driver is always responsible anyway, no matter what.
I've driven a couple of Teslas with their Autopilot and find it great for long distance interstate-autobahn type travel since we usually have very very light traffic here.
But when testdriving the G30, it quickly became apparent that its time for hands off is just too short.

But if not possible to change, so be it.

BMW's system is not ready for hands off driving, nor do I trust Americans with such an auto-pilot system.

There are other (non-BMW) sensors that can be fooled with magnetic gloves or foil.
