Bmw M550d Interieur Active sound

Hello,

I drive a 2017 530d G30. I tried some M550d models and noticed that the new 50d engines get some nice straight six sound from the speakers. Now i am asking if you can do this with the 530d with coding or do i need an extra unit for this.

Just a question - wasn't it too artificial? I am seriously considering coding ASD off.

I wish my M550 sounded on the outside like it does on inside with sport sound on.

the new X5 M50d has the same sound on the inside and on the outside.

oh sorry i did not drive a M550d
i drove the new X5 M50d and i really liked the sound.
and if you code the asd off, can you tell me how you did this because maybe i can turn it on with coding

Used to be really noticeable in my M4, and was sort of aggravating and embarrassing. Haven't noticed it in my M550I, does it have ASD? I like the fact that I have to ask that!

Just have your car in manual at 2500 rpm and toggle between sport and comfort, you'll here the bass sound. I love it, just wish that's how it sounded on outside too

I think m550i sounds pretty good from outside. Just that the cabin insulation is too good so the driver won't be able to hear any of the engine and exhaust sound inside the cabin.

I didn't turn it off, I just set the volume to "quietest" (that how it was in Carly menu). Regarding turning it on - I am not sure if it works, but in Carly there is something like attached printscreen. Below fold there are Alpina B5 and D5.
