Video: Plug-in-Hybride burned down
A friend of mine his BMW 5 Plug-in-Hybride is burned down while it was not recharging. Batteries did not catch on fire.

It appears to be the front that is on fire...not the rear where the batteries are kept. Cars do get on fire on occasion but this does not appear, on first impression, to be related to the fact that it is a phev.

Batteries did not catch on fire, it was somewhere around the engine. Car was not driven for 5h and it is not very hot in Belgium. Quite weird.

The charging socket, power electronics, and electric motor are all located in the front of the vehicle. Any type of short could have sparked a fire especially considering these vehicles are high voltage.
