Nice - that was really quick! It seems plausible you could have your car by the end of February if timing went a smooth as your entry to production. I'd plan on early to mid-March though as a reasonable. Or if you have luck like me.. plan on early-mid April. ;D

No way. I waited 3 weeks for production to begin. I'm thinking beginning of March or end of March.

It's moving! Going to drive you slightly crazy watching each step, but if you read my thread you know I enjoyed every ounce of it.

Enjoy the process, and when she comes in enjoy it in good health! You did two spec options I heavily debated (brown leather and shadow line exterior) on a TBII paint. I am very eagerly awaiting pictures once she's delivered!!

Quick update, I have gotten all the way up to Quality Check! I have been keeping track of my journey, so here is my current timeline.

Timeline:

January 4th: Order Received.
January 6th: Production Scheduled.
January 25th: Production Begins.
February 2nd: Exterior Body Assembly Begins.
February 2nd (Later in the day): In The Paint Booth.
February 4th (My birthday!): Entering Assembly Line.
February 4th (Later in the day): Assembly In Progress.
February 4th (Later in the day): Quality Check

The car has jumped all the way to Dispatched From Factory!

My M550i is still sitting at the port since Jan 22nd, so it will be 2 weeks on Feb 8 - and that is with the order date of Dec 15.

Went with this spec:

TB II paint
Black Nappa leather
Fine line ridge wood
Red calipers
Black 19" 845m rims
Exec pack (standard HK sound)
Drivers assist plus pack
Park assist pack
Front/rear heated seats
Heated wheel
Front ventilated seats
Front massaging seats

Only options I didn't end up getting were:
Dynamic handling
BW sound
Anthracite headliner
Leather dash
Space saver spare


Pretty happy with my choices except I sorta regret the sound system. And I'm torn on my leather. Happy with black, but wonder if the dark brown would have been more fun. Had it been a cognac nappa, that would have been a no brainer. My last car was a 2018 440xi 6MT with red leather. So a jazzy leather was def up my alley

We took delivery of our 2021 Tanzanite Blue M550 last month. Last Saturday was a beautiful day for a drive and some Napa Valley wine tasting. It was Silver Oak Winery's 2016 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon release day. The pancetta, sage and fontina cheese pizza was amazing with the Cab. As you can see, the Tanzanite really pops in the sun. You're going to love the color and get many compliments.

I went with the Black Nappa Leather and Grey Poplar Wood Trim. Plus Dynamic Handling, Shadowline, Parking Assistance and Executive packages. 19" 845M wheels with performance run flats. Also got the Space-saver spare because I have almost new all season 19" non-run flats from our 2018 M550 lease return. I'm not happy that BMW eliminated the CD player in the LCI. Here's a couple photos of the interior and dash.

I went with the Mocha Nappa Leather because I feel like Black Nappa is too boring for me, and you don't see many cars in Tanzanite Blue with a brown interior. For me, I'm not too upset they removed the CD Player. I haven't listened to a CD in years!
