2018 instrument cluster screen graphic error

I have a 2018 530e. Earlier today when I turned the car on, the driver dash instrument cluster suddenly started flashing, with the graphics all messed up - things appeared to have shadow images shifted to the left. It didn't impact driving, but cruise control became unavailable.

After driving and turning the car off for about an hour, I turned the car back on again. The graphics mostly returned to normal, except this edrive icon right in the middle of the screen still appeared to have a shadow image shifted to the left and cruise control remains unavailable.

I wonder if anyone else has seen this problem before. Is there a way to hard reset the instrument screen (I know you can reset idrive, but that doesn't affect the instrument screen in 2018 cars). If anyone has had this problem before, is it an expensive repair or simple software issue?

Thanks for any inputs.

Pretty sure I've seen this in other threads before. Try searching the forum. I can't remember if there is an easy fix or must be brought to dealer.

I'd take a photo and show your dealer. I'd have thought that would justify in the first instance a free software upgrade. If that doesn't resolve then perhaps an issue with the cluster hardware itself
