Changing your midpipe (resonator) and muffler won't throw a code. If you change out your Downpipe with a catless or low cell count High Flow unit, you might throw a code. I don't know if BMWs go into limp mode and dump a bunch of fuel if you throw that code though. I do know that if you get a tune you can stop that sensor from initializing.

changing the downpipe will throw a check engine light but the car will drive normally. No limp mode or fuel codes, just a cat warning.

I went to purchase Remus Axel Back Exhaust for my G30. Got an email stating it was not for street use and track racing use only. Does that mean if installed the car would not pass emissions tests (live in Illinois, FYI). Thoughts? Or what should I consider. Warranty ends in Oct and looking to make a few mods, including this and a stage one tune. Appreciate any help.

No emissions concerns related to cat-back system (or any other systems) install. In addition, my Remus cat-back exhaust system was installed at a local authorized BMW dealership. The only item that will impact the emission is a downpipe installation.

Depends on your state. If your state checks code only, you are good as this system does not trigger the check engine light.

Does anyone know why the exhaust valve cable doesnt reach the port on the Remus muffler? It's short by about a foot or so.

you need to remove the cable from it's factory location, off a few clips and route it towards the new location, assuming you have a g30

It seems the valve itself opens opposite of the actuator. Are you supposed to reuse the factory one, or should Remus send a replacement with the exhaust?

You re-use your stock valve actuator with the newly supplied valve spring from Remus
