530e M Sport Touring = 18s only?

Is there a reason why the (UK) 530e M sport touring can only be configured with 18" wheels? Whereas the 530e Msport Saloon goes up to 20"?

Is this something to do with air suspension, batteries, rolling resistance?

Or..(and I really hope this is the case)..is it a mistake in the configurator and I can actually spec it with 19s..

Cheers

Same in here in Norway. The rear axle load is too heavy for 19" and 20" tyres.

I can confirm that it only can be spect with 18 inch. But it suits the car. It's not a sports car, but a very comfortable long distance cruiser and a fast one at that 😊

A friend of my has an 330e, that's more sporty. But the 5 wins all day on comfort 😊

I had a 330e M Sport with 18’’ regular tyres. Now I have a 530e SE with 18’’ regular tryes. The 330e M Sport rode better. You feel a lot of the road surface especially from the rear of the 530e on rough and even not so rough roads. I have reduced the rear tyre pressure by 3 psi and that has helped but I never had this issue with the 330e. Otherwise it’s a great car and is surprisingly more efficient than the 330e was.

Thanks Remmib - I guess with the batteries, and the extra metalwork, that makes some sense.

Great photos Kenny - are those the laser lights with the individual shadow line option? Any chance of a close up?

As an update: The configurator now shows a 19" 845M wheel option which suits such a large car much better - thanks BMW!
