M2 didn't even make the list? No E92?

What a fucktard.

I agree with everything except for the M8, and I would probably rank an E28 over an E34.

Garage List
2011.5 BMW M3  [10.00]
2004 BMW M3  [10.00]
Rule of thumb is to take these "best" lists with a grain of salt.
This is nothing more than a reflection of the writer/producer's own opinions.

What it really means is "IMO, these are my/our 10 favorite M-cars".
A different channel could put the F87, E9x, and E28 in its top/best 3 and it would carry the same weight.
By no means are any of these kinds of lists authoritative on what constitutes as 'best'.

Only exceptions in my book are competitions/lists/accolades that are backed by concrete analysis, experience, and debated/discussed and agreed by a professional panel, such as the International Engine of the Year Awards.
Even so, the results are still influenced by personal opinion to a degree, but at least there's an intellectual, fact-based aspect to the compilation of those results. Not just, "Well I think it looks super cool and it's gnarly so it gets my vote"

Of course, I just can't imagine any sort of personal list that wouldn't have the F87, and E92. To make his list truly terrible he should have omitted the E46 CSL.

I was going to say exactly this. I like Watson, but it's total bullshit to not have the E9X M3 and M2 on this list. WTF M8 and not either of those two models?

His channel is all about drag races since it generates views and $$, so he probably hates on the E92 since it lost to cars that were 15 years newer. Yet the E92 is more fun to drive than all of them.

Once I read that the e60 was rated higher than the e39, I didn't even watch the video. What a joke. It's one of the most unreliable M cars ever made. That's why the e39's values are increasing the e60's are not. I understand the sweet V10, but come on.

I agree with #1 but I would have thought an M1 would score a lot higher than a 1M

I'm furious. How dare someone else's top 10 list differ from my top 10 list. I need the validation.

I would have added the Z4M, is such a flawed car but all those flaws are what makes it so appealing. In many ways, I think it is comparable with Older 911’s, which are also far from perfect, but perfect at the same time! The Z4 has many car enthusiast qualities, in the coupe even the door click when closing has that old school solid feel!

These videos are so pointless. They all have their place, but the 2 engines that offer the most theater are the S85 and S65, so not including the latter makes me feel like he hasn't really driven these cars properly. Also, I believe the M5 did use a rack and pinion setup, it was the 540i that had a ball and joint.

All V8 E39 models (540, M5) used Recirculating Ball Steering, the 6-cylinder's received rack and pinion.

Oh I see, thanks for clearing that up. Makes sense if it doesn't fit with the 540i, shouldn't fit with the M5

The Z3MC is such a kool car, I know a lot of folks think its ugly but I've always thought I've always liked it.

These videos offer more entertainment value than automotive wisdom, perhaps intentionally. Still - Matt is a great host.

Rumor has it that when BMW designed the M1, they were going to call it the 1M, but then decided not to because they wanted to save that name for a future product that would be even more special.
