Yeah, he's the running guru who dropped dead while running. This is what I'm saying.

And don't call me Shirley.

I love it! But I'm my own personal heater.
Pretty close to the same here. Teens in the evening and early morning highs in the 30's. Luckily it was warmer temp-wise today, but the overcast sky and wind makes it seem colder than it has been all week.

This is my first winter without all the additional fat I've been carrying around for years. At 140 pounds, I'm constantly freezing now.

I had an interesting conversation with my endocrinologist last year, and he could not find a fault with my logic. The "food pyramid" that dictated everything we were forced to eat in our younger days was formulated by lobbyists, not nutritionists. I'm sure that the Metformin and insulin folks are funding the bread lobby, and whoever said that an apple a day keeps the doctor away never saw a blood sugar spike to 325 after eating just one honeycrisp.....

Most of what's in a grocery store is either outright garbage or unsuitable for human consumption due to being over-processed. Our bodies' evolution hasn't kept up with our brains' abilities to think up new forms of shitty food.

You haven't lived until you've had a state-licensed nutritionist sit next to your hospital bed in the cardiac unit, telling you that they will not let you order steamed fresh cauliflower for breakfast. They have no problem letting a cardiac/diabetic/no sodium patient order pancakes, bacon, maple syrup, orange juice, and hot chocolate though...and would also have gladly brought toast and eggs!

Sunday dinners in the cardiac unit every week were beef stroganoff made with sour cream over buttered noodles. Oh, and chocolate ice cream.

On the bright side, I was in the right place (cardiac unit) if my ticker seized up from eating all of that crap.....

Basically just flip the pyramid over if you really want to use it. At least it works better that way!

That's appalling from a patient care perspective. And fantastic from a profit perspective. Feed you a bunch of cheap shitty food and if you crash and need $1M worth of additional surgery and ICU time...well, the ROI on that 10-cent serving of bacon starts looking pretty good.

This picture is from two weeks ago. I'm the bald one standing:-) Turning 50 in may.

The cute girl is my 'semi stepdaughter' (Cuban) the guy on the left my brother in law (Colombian, just like my wife).

Cheers

I just met a Colombian lady last week and we are supposed to go out this weekend. She's an absolute goddess and has a great attitude. Any pointers?

Don't dress like Omar Suarez. You might end up dangling from a chopper skid.

See and I was going to make comments like "Don't agree to deliver any packages for her" / "Don't let her put anything in your suitcase", but then I thought that might be inappropriate, so I didn't.

And then you bring Omar / Scarface into it, with all the connotations of coke, and I think I might have missed an opportunity....

Hmm. We are not too far apart (44). But, I hear you on the gray hair in the beard. It seems that my grays keep multiplying with each year and I went bald about 20 years ago. On another note, I'm not in this group yet, but not too far off either.
