BMW CCA Memberships

Hello,

New BMW Owner here. A friend who used to own a BMW years ago recommended I sign up for a CCA membership in order to get parts, fluids, and service discounts at dealerships. He says it more than pays for itself with just a few purchases. However, this was several years ago since he was a member. I was on the CCA site an can't find any information on Parts and Service discounts at BMW dealers. Only discounts on third party products and online sellers. Are dealership parts/fluids and service discounts still a benefit of CCA? If so, is the membership still worth it (i.e. will I save more money using the discount at a dealership for parts vs going online at tischer or somewhere else online)?

Thanks!

BMW CCA- I think the real value is the networking potential at the local chapter level. The Sandlapper Chapter has regular track events at the BMW performance center. When I went to M School the instructors refused to let us use our personal cars on the factory race track- insurance rules and the like.

And then two months later I was on that same track with my M3 during the club's autocross event.

At a chapter meeting I mentioned to one of the grey beards that I was having a dealer/warranty issue. He told me exactly how to use my leverage with the SA and I got a $700 refund check from the dealership.

Mostly I enjoy the fellowship of all things BMW.

Thanks for your honest feedback. Unfortunately, the closet chapter is over 2.5 hours from me so the meetings and events won't be as feasible to attend. Though I would love the ability to network with some enthusiasts. I've only had my x5 for a few months and I love it.

Many BMW dealerships and independents give discounts to CCA members. In our area the dealers give 15% discounts on parts and labor. It really depends on your area and what your local chapter has negotiated.

Simply call your local dealer and ask if they honor BMW CCA discounts on parts/labor. Most dealers in CA honor 15-20% discount on parts/labor. It's at the dealer's discretion though. At a minimum, you should at least be able to benfit from the CCA rebate you qualify for if you decide to purchase/lease another BMW. That can be $500-1000 depending on the vehicle.

Hopefully your local chapter's website can give you an idea of which dealers give CCA discounts, but it is always best to call. Many times, CCA discount is similar to wholesale pricing on parts and some dealers will even extend to labor as well.

The member rewards rebate is huge, nothing like getting free money You will have needed to be a member for one consecutive year prior to applying for rebate (BMWNA rule).

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask and you can use my member #339225 as a referral and we both get a chance to win a free ///M school as part of our membership drive.

I joined recently and my 2016 membership was paid for a week later after purchasing tires and having them mounted, balanced and car aligned at an independent shop. Both dealers and independent mechanics offer various discounts on parts and labor or combinations thereof.

In '92 I won a new 325iS at the BMWCCA Oktoberfest Raffle. That will pay for my annual membership for a very long time.

Make sure you account for what you paid for the raffle tickets We have an active couple in our chapter that won an X6 at O'Fest in 2010. They took the cash and got a nice Z4. Their license plate is FREE-ZE.

Roundel is worth the price alone! But also as others noted, just keeping your membership active allows you new car rebates, my rebates have been thousands already, multiples of my membership fees over the past decade ...it's a must

I did. The cost of the BMWCCA raffle tickets and all of the lottery tickets that I bought that year were tax deductible.

Not to mention you get access to BMWCCA exclusive events. I went to the BMWCCA Driving Experience at the BMW Performance Center in Thermal a couple of weeks ago. I was talking to someone who had attended the 1 day M School there and she said they basically had the same "events"; auto-x, skid pad, follow the leader on the track, etc. just more of the same, with some instruction at the M School. Cost of the BMWCCA event was $200. I'm pretty sure the 1 day M School is around $1500.

BMW CCA is a good deal whether you chose to participate or not. I just purchased a new M and received a $500 rebate for being a member. CCA is a great club, enjoy the bennefits.
