M5 rear diffuser

Does anyone know if the stock rear diffuser for the M5 fit on the M550? Or does the whole bumper need to be changed to the stock M5's for fitment?

Thanks

That looks super clean. How's the fitment? Fit straight on or does it require any modification?

Thanks for sharing!!

I might look into this if the stock bumper and diffuser from the M5 doesn't fit on the M550.

I was asking since someone damaged my rear bumper, it needs to be replaced and their insurance is covering it.

That is an aftermarket M5 style.
It is not 1:1 to the real M5 one.
That's why it fit.

I have tested the real one for F90 M5 to G30, the exhaust tip doesn't line up since the F90 M5 is more toward the center.
Also you will need to cut or get the F90 M5 Trunk Kick sensors bracket.

Thanks for your response!

I was thinking of replacing the m550 rear bumper with the stock M5's so that I wouldn't have any trouble trouble with the rear diffuser fitment. But this also requires some of the plastic cover shields under the exhaust to be changed because of the layout of the M5 bumper.

As you mentioned, the only other thing I need to figure out at this time is how the exhaust fitment would work.

I was hoping if I went with a aftermarket exhaust such as Dinan, it would help resolve that issue.

I attached 2 pics, one for the M550 and the other for M5 with Dinan exhaust. Seems like it could be possible

When you tested it out, was it with the stock M550 exhaust? What are your thoughts on fitment with a Dinan exhaust?

Yes, it was stock M550 exhaust.
Not sure how will it fit with Dinan Quad Tips.

RW Carbon rear diffuser

Got mine from RW Carbon and I have the full Dinan Signature Package on my car. Fits perfect. Also bought front 3-piece spoiler, kidney grill covers, rear window spoiler, side vent covers and side rocker skirts from RW. See pics.

Do you remember how much the exhaust was off by?

Car looks great!!

If I have no other option I'm going to go down this road. But for right now I really want the OEM m5 rear diffuser, I haven't found anything that looks as good as that.

You should wrap your roof gloss black. Would go well with your theme.

I don't remember.
Somehow G30 market is not as what I expected.
While the F90 M5 market has been much better than G30.

Therefore, I don't really pay attention much about the details.

Absolutely right about that!

All these aftermarket kits for the m550 look great but it just doesn't look as aggressive as the M5 one.

If I can figure it out and make it work, I'll update for other people that are also interested.

Thanks for the feedback!

Wow, this looks awesome! I wish thinking about just wrapping my stock splitters and side vent covers - since my car is black and the stock silver ones kind of stick out.

Did your rear diffuser come with the carbon tow cover or did you have to get that separately?

Went with the RW carbon rear diffuser you have. Man that installation on the diffuser was brutal with the Dinan exhaust tips in the way.

After finally getting it installed, I must say that it looks really good. Looks much better in person than pics. Overall I'm really happy with it, gives it that aggressive look that the car was missing.

Thanks for the pics and recommendation

Did you use a body shop for this install?
