I ended up installing the kit form Bimmertech.
postives:
- Remote start works using the original key
- can set it to auto turn off after 10, 20, 40 mins.
- auto moves the drivers seat back/forward when entering exiting
- auto rolls up all windows every time u lock. Useful for me as I have a bad habit of leaving windows open.

Negatives:
- £500
- cannot set remote start with car's preconditioning timer
- installation is uncomfortable
- must sacrifice a key. If you have 3 keys like me its ok, but if you only have 2, you'll need to grab a cheap aftermarket bmw key and have it programmed.

Was it worth it?... depends how cold it is on the day.

mittu I just ordered the Bimmertech kit. Fortunately there is a detailed video showing how to install it and I'm comfortable going DIY. Does the seat heater come on with this kit, if below the temperature threshold set in iDrive?

The kit does not turn on the seat heater, unfortunately.

Any news about remote start?
I have G30 LCI and would like to try it.

I did try to code as mentioned on the first page.
But (since the modules has bit different names in LCI. Y2021) I didn't find "HU_NBT2: 3001 EXBOX: 18: ASSIST_REMOTE_HVAC" anywhere... ?

When quickly pressing button 3 times, the car do start some procedure and blinks the lights/blinkers, but it doesn't start.
There is still inactive option to thick in de i-drive - for land restriction.

Does anyone know how these companies over seas get the FSC for remote start ? FEMTO, K7 Tech Lab etc. do they get a donor FSC from another vehicle and somehow patch it ?

My G30 is a 17 equipped with remote control parking so I’m sure all coding and fsc is present to auto start the car, i just don’t have the display key 🫤 which is $1300 from the dealer which I’m contemplating already to order it since it’s such a rare feature.

can somebody confirm this?

after VO coding 1CR (even without valid FSC) it looks like that the normal SA 4NB preheating is not working anymore.
no warm air is coming out, if the engine is not already warm or running.

Remote Engine Start is disabled in the idrive menu.

I think there is somewhere a setting missing, that the car should also do preheating without starting the engine.

Hi,

Standheuzing --> Parkingheater --> Car should warm itself up without starting the engine. --> You firstly have to ensure that a Webaste parking heater (hardware) is indeed installed in your car. I've attached some pictures of this part. Option code "536"

Long story short. If you didn't retrofit this feature to your car or if it didn't come as standard with the car itself when you bought it, you cannot make it work by simple coding.

I hope this helps you out in your journey.

Useful for me as I have a bad habit of leaving windows open. Negatives: - £500 - cannot set remote start with car's preconditioning timer - installation is uncomfortable - must sacrifice a key. If you have 3 keys like me its ok, but if you only have 2, you'll need to grab a cheap aftermarket bmw key and have it programmed. Was it worth it?... depends how cold it is on the day.

I did try to code as mentioned on the first page. But (since the modules has bit different names in LCI. Y2021) I didn't find "HU_NBT2: 3001 EXBOX: 18: ASSIST_REMOTE_HVAC" anywhere... ? When quickly pressing button 3 times, the car do start some procedure and blinks the lights/blinkers, but it doesn't start. There is still inactive option to thick in de i-drive - for land restriction.
