Door handle chrome strip delete?

Hello All,

Was curious what the best option is to color match the door handle chrome strip. I like my cars all body matched and my car is an M-Sport Carbon Black G30. In the past, I've had them plastidipped, then painted over with OEM paint.

Does anyone have any recs for the best way? Not sure if IND or any companies sell OEM color matched overlays for replacement inserts. I've seen gloss black overlays, but I prefer it to be body matched.

IND will do it. They quoted me for it. I don't remember off the top of my head, but it was pretty reasonable, I thought. They source new handles and paint them, or you can send them yours if you can part with them for a couple weeks.

I went back and looked. $545 for a new set of handles paint matched. I thought that was not bad for what you're getting.

My car is a 2018, I bought the 2019 door handles and had them painted . All in $590

There's a similar post on one of the G30 FB groups. I caught this picture of a wrap and thought of you guys. Looks pretty good to me on this color car.

Not bad. I was really surprised by this, but once I wrapped the window chrome, I actually started to like the handles. Still can't decide on the vents.

I bought used handles (already painted) and just swapped them. The G30 handles aren't exclusive to just the G30 either. I think total into them was just shy of around $300- a little cleaning up and about 20 minutes to throw all 4 in.

Was the install tedious? I know it's simple but I've read it can be easy to drop the screw in the door and you have to be very careful with it. Once you drop it, it's gone.

Nah, not at all. You would have to be trying to drop the screw in order to do so- it's not intended to be fully removed. If you buy a set of handles then you'll quickly see how easy it actually is.

Do you have part numbers or can you direct me to which models have the same handles? I'm thinking F90?

Here are the part numbers I looked up. I just don't know if they have the chrome strip. I tried cross referencing numbers on eBay, but both the LCI and chrome strip versions pop up with the same part numbers. I contacted ECS Tuning, I'm hoping they have an answer for me, unless someone here knows what's up.

You just need the handles for a 2019 or newer. Only 2017-2018 have the chrome

Sorry, I don't recall the part numbers but fairly sure G01, G05, G20, G30, G31 are all applicable. When searching Ebay it'll usually show which others are compatible along with the pictures.

I went to a local tint / wrap shop and initially wanted to wrap it blue to match the paint but the guy said it was way too hard to match the metallic blue flake…he said it might be close but you’d always see it…. I debated about doing black… but he had a lot of metallic silver colors and he had one that was almost identical to the cerium… so i did that. It turned out looking really good. I almost like it more than if it was blue… gives nice tie in with the other cerium highlights in the trim and wheels.

Now I need a new rear diffuser and maybe exhuast.

Yes, but the kick area of where you need to kick is smaller. you get used to it.
