I don’t curse...I speak sailor.

After 25 years in the Navy, you tend to curse a lot and speak your mind. If I was in the situation, I would have definitely turned it around on him then leave.

On another note, one thing I have learn as a senior enlisted, is when to have a filter on. So if I’m around people I don’t know I would usually mind my Ps and Qs till I see how the environment is. I also do watch out for kids.

i don't not swear, i feel like it's one of those things that makes a person human

by parents and the first date until she swears is probably the only time i don't swear; with the boys it's a whole different ball game

All day, every fucking day!

I mean there's certain times or places where I try to be respectful and not swear, but for the most part at least every few sentences might be some sort of "curse" word lol.

As is said, generally the most truthful people swear a lot.....

Nothing is more embarrassing than the inability to communicate without cursing, I think it demonstrates an inability to form an educated, cohesive statement.

But otherwise, do what the fuck you want.

Studies have shown that smarter and more successful people use more bad language. With that said, if I don't know the person I'm speaking to well, then I don't use it.

Did my time in the Fleet and my vocabulary can get pretty salty at times but in mixed company it’s kept down but hanging out with my buds and drinking it sometimes reverts back to sailor mode. Day to day, no.

I don't curse, but I AM fluent in Sailor

I have to admit, when I would go to a soccer game with my niece, at least when her daughter was in her early teens, I was always taken aback when something would happen on the field and I'd get this "FUCK!" from the seat next to me. "You kiss your daughter with that mouth?"

Like some have mentioned, I use it now for effect.

Depends on who I'm around. I like to use those words, of course, they are like the spices of language, but some people don't like their conversations so spicy.

With friends I will occasionally or to emphasize things. Usually not at work since I work with school districts and town administrators.

Cursing doesn't offend me at all, but I do think some people sound less intelligent when every other word is an F bomb.

What did you do in the Navy (assuming you were Navy)?

I used to curse a lot in high school/college but I've toned it down a little.

But catch me with my boys and all hell breaks loose. Cursing and non-PC jokes are rampant. Personally I find it hard to bond with dudes who are uptight about cursing and get offended by jokes.

I love all the old folks in this thread saying that using curse words shows a lack of intelligence.
