Love the sound of aftermarket systems on the 550, I wonder if an X pipe would make a difference with the V8?

All I can say, those grease residues on the pipes and muffler will leave marks.

Does the remus catback exhaust system retain the stock valved system? Is it quiet in comfort and loud in sport/sport plus?

It does retain the use of the stock valves.

Yes it is quiet in comfort and aggressive in sport, it offers a perfect balance for daily drivers

Ok, but I thought you could only open the valves when you are in Sport mode and then close again i Comfort mode....sometimes you you still want that good sound even in comfort mode but then you need a remote controll like the exhaustMeister were you can have them open in Comfort mode....were you connect the ExhaustMaister to your vacuum system...

Regards

If you get a valve controller, you can open/close the valves whenever you want.

Do you have to cut the exhaust when installing cat back? I’m trying to decide between the axle back or catback. Thanks.

No cutting required. The axle-back connects to your stock mid pipe with resonators. A full cat back system removes your mid pipe with resonators and also includes the axle back muffler (obviously).

Remus is an excellent exhaust. It is not valvetronic though, it will work with your stock valves controlled by your mode of driving.
