Yes, 407 horsepower and 450 lb-ft. of torque to the wheels. Doesn't get much more real world than that...

Its just the boost settings that you're allowed to change. Its similar to what my Map 5 ran, so those numbers were used in collaboration with a friend and BMS (to verify logs). I don't like Map 5 since it was inconsistent, so I just switched it to Map 6 for more consistency in boost. However, Map 5 broke the 400whp barrier too, so its not much different.

I had my EWG car jb4 map6 custom mapped on a rolling road.

No extra FF or EWG wires, HFC DP and MPE.

My car came up with a flat torque with peak crank torque if 450lbft and crank power topped out at 380bhp.

Car goes like stink !!!

i did but its not rocket science. Create a boost curve that suits your mods. I have seen 20psi out of my stock snail

Yeah, I was done with tunes. When I called Wagner Tuning on Wednesday to check on my downpipe and they said it was going to take another 3-4 weeks before they could build it, and with me going to be on crutches after my surgery on the 16th I told them to cancel my order for now; guess that will be a next Spring project. The tuner box from aFe came available on EBAY used for $90 less than the cheapest new price online and $67 cheaper than a new BMS one. The cleaner look of the aFe with just the required connectors (2) and not a bunch of extra connectors that just get taped up out of the way makes it attractive. Advertised gains appear are the same as BMS for Stage 1 or little higher so I figure it was worth a shot with a 30 day return policy -- and you know I don't mind returning

Ease of taking off a Stage 1 harness so I can take it in for service without any hassles is important to me. My guess is this box will be the same tech as the BMS but a more simpler harness to store out of the way, and the box looks better without the extra connection that you can't use anyway (COM port). No Dyno plan until next Spring until I get a downpipe added, so for the upcoming cold months this will be just enough power for me until I'm all healed up my Winter activities.

Are you referring to the aFe Scorcher? I don't see one specifically for the 235i, only for the 335i with the N55 engine, should that work fine on the 235i?

Seems to be about $450 though if you get the package deal with the Momentum intake, then it's $700, and considering the intake is about $415 alone, it makes the tuner module $285. Tempting.

The site wasn't updated on the M235i page, confirmed with them that this is the correct part and they will get the webmaster to update the page shortly.

Inconsistent because Map 5 is auto tuning itself every time you take the car out? Essentially adapting over and over?

I got myself all set up and did my first data logging last night via laptop....took your advice though and bought the OTG cable/app/fuel calc...even snagged a galaxy s3 that my coworker was selling for 40 bucks. So I should be all good for my next dyno sesh.

Ran a E85 mix on map 2.....

Are you emailing Terry direct with your logs?

Yeah, I didn't like how Map 5 was feeling because it was inconsistent and had to re-adapt a little too much for my liking. Map 6 is nice since it let me just hit the target boost each time and my ign_adv was actually lower on this map so it felt a lot stronger.

I just send Terry my logs or post on the N54tech forum .

So does anyone know the limits of the block and transmission?

When do you need to start upgrading the internals, tran and rear end?

I upgraded to quaife LSD already to help get more of the power down more of the time.

Works a treat.

Great to see you pushing this car. I'm going to do the same.

Any plans for the transmission? How much power are you going to build until you focus on it?

I'm wondering the same for the internals. Crank I heard was forged the rods and pistons I heard were not.

I'm going to keep it as is for now, with no plans on the tranny or motor. I don't think I've approached the limits of the motor yet, but I don't launch the car or shift at peak torque, so I don't think it will be an issue.

There are guys in Europe pushing out mid 400's Bhp without issues so think block and gbox are solid.

Given the way my car currently gets off the line and goes down the road, I might leave my car at the stage it's at now. It has multiple roles ( daily driver, dad's taxi and my occasional track day toy) so can still do 400+ miles to a tank of fuel, drop 911's and XKR's at the lights and worry lots of exotica on a circuit.

Out of curiosity are you maintaining the car yourself ( brake fluid oil change etc) or using the 4 yr maintenance plan with all the mods esp down pipe which you can't hide. I'm banished to Eco pro hell during the break in period to keep the revs low. Kudos to you guys with the courage to just enjoy yourself and the car!

you don't really need to drive in eco pro to keep the revs low...

It's probably a bad idea to break in on eco-pro also as you should actually not stay at same rpms constantly you should drive at wide range of rpms from 0-4k and different speeds

The Eco pro is more of a self control thing to remind me to take it ez. It has occurred to me though the engine lugs occasionally and it's far better to rev a little than lug the engine. It's sick how a downshift to 7th gets me past 80 in a blink and the speed gong going off (another self control thing). I try to vary the speeds as much as I can but with so much highway commuting its usually between 70-80. Ur probably right though and I should use comfort more. Sport I think will get me past 4500 rpm too easily.
