Yes I thought it sounded quite good. Not as many pops and bangs as on the 340i MPPSK that I've heard. We'll see if that's the case next week when it's fitted.

Standard the 540i not so loud inside the car. My question is if it's much louder after installing the Performance exhaust?

I'm currently awaiting delivery of my G30 540i xdrive. I really want the ppsk as I feel the standard exhaust is a bit "unenthusiastic", but want to make sure that it's still not too intrusive as a daily driver if in comfort mode. I don't believe the G30 MPE is a valved system like some of the other exhausts, but is there a notable change in tone from comfort to sport/sport+? Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any good videos or sound clips...

This is very subjective but I don't find it intrusive at all.

To be honest, after installing MPPSK I have almost never used comfort mode.

Only right after the install, I just checked if there is any difference in sound between the modes and there is.

WOT sounds the same in all modes but when cruising comfort mode is very quiet.
The burbles when letting off throttle and downshifting are much more pronounced in sport/sport+ , almost non existent in comfort mode.

I really love the tone and loudness of the exhaust , exactly how I hoped it to be.

It is not crazy loud at all in neither of the modes.
You actually need to roll down the window a bit to fully enjoy. Even in sport/sport+ with the windows up you do not hear much.

Hello guys, I am waiting for delivery for my new 540i, and I am thinking to get the MPPSK, I was curious if the actual HP is only +20 or is it more? I've read on some forums that the actual power gain is around 50 hp?

Has anyone tested this on a dyno or?

I am super curious about this.

As I do not have any before/after dyno results I am not sure whether MPPSK is underrated or not but this kit is not all about power increase.

The exhaust is a significant add on to the joy – the sound is just the right tone for me , not too loud/aggressive and not tame at all.

I love the sound each time I start the engine, burbles when I let off throttle or downshift. And sound at WOT is addictive

+50hp is hard to believe and I did not feel such an increase in power but the car is definitely transformed, more eager to rev and pulls hard till red line.

Hi,

I drove approximately 15000 kms with my G31 540iX before installing the MPPSK. I have not dynoed the car before or after.

To be honest my expectations were about more pulling power, after all this is a family station wagon weighing 2 tons, so I was more interested about the 11% increase in torque (450Nm->500Nm).

I did not believe I'd feel the difference in horsepower, I thought that barely 6% increase in hp would not be felt by my butt dyno.

What I do find though is that the car is much transformed. There is a noticeable improvement in pickup, regardless of gear, and as emre says the car pulls much harder in the upper rev region. The sound is sporty without being obnoxious (like AMG models).

My butt dyno says the car feels more like a 400hp 2ton car than a 360hp. Some of it is due to increase in torque, some to increase in hp and some due to the new torque converter installed.
Obviously extremely subjective and your butt dyno may or may not agree with mine

All in all it is a nicely rounded package that definitely brings a more sporty edge to an otherwise highly refined and silent cruiser, adept at effortless wafting about, but not a sporty car in any sense..

Dinan previously released pre and post tune power for the x3 m40i (same tune as the 540i w/ mppsk) and their stock numbers were like 445hp/440trq at the crank with an assumed generous 20% drivetrain loss, that would put it close to what bmw rates it at the WHEEL. This either means bmw lists wheel hp/trq or continues to waayyy underrate their cars. Either way...my car feels 400+ hp

Hi can someone please post a video clip of the MPPSK installed on a g30 550xi please? I have heard it on the 340/440xi but there aren’t any videos for the 540 mppsk
