Got my custom build 530e M Sport today

530e Bluestone Mettalic, M Sport, Drv Asst Plus, Parking Assist, Lighting Pkg, HK, Heated Steering
65660.00 MSRP
-10560.00 (Disc + Rebates)
-500 (BMW Drv event, dealer wouldn't give additional $500 from their pocket)
54600 before taxes and fees

Added an EasyCare StatedCare extended warranty for $2767.00 for 72mo 85k miles.

Appreciate any thoughts on the deal and the extended warranty. I was concerned about the hybrid powertrain and all the additional electronics hence got the warranty for the first time. Usually I will take the car to an indy or work on it myself, after the BMW program ends.

Attached is the first image, car had 9miles on the ODO when I picked it.

I predict you will love your "e". My only advice is to forget that it is a hybrid and drive it like you stole it.

I don't know your extended warranty company. I somewhat share your concerns about long term reliability with two engines, etc. My solution was simple: I have GEICO and they automatically added mechanical breakdown insurance to my policy. Just under $10/month. It sits behind my OEM warranty and will cover me up to 7 years or 72,000 miles with a $250 per incident deductible.

We have similar builds and I also got the extended warranty for the same reason. I was able to talk down the price a bit being I'm a repeat customer with my dealer.

My one month anniversary is coming up and I've been loving the car. Don't forget to file all those rebates you now get with the e, further driving down that price 😊.

Thanks good to know about the plan from Geico, do you have the details on what all it covers?

Thanks, I am loving it so far. Can you share the plan you got and the cost.

I can't speak to the 530E platform, but I was one of the first to pick up a 2013 ActiveHybrid 3 when they came out. One of the best BMWs I have ever owned in terms of rock solid reliability and absolutely no issues with the hybrid powertrain, even though that was Gen1.
Based on that experience and owning it for 5 years, I would not have opted for the extended warranty and hope you never have to use yours!

Gorgeous car - congrats and enjoy!
PS - Are you aware of the BMW CCA rebate offer? https://www.bmwcca.org/vehicle_rebate

Thanks. I am a long time BMW owner, this is my 4th BMW. Mine have been incredibly reliable. BMWs unnecessarily get a bad rap, primarily because of $tealers who give you a big list of items every time you take the car to the shop especially after the warranty runs out.

Great to know about your experience, very reassuring. Loving the car so far.

Thanks, that's an awesome rate. I am planning to return mine, small print says that it doesn't even cover hybrid drive train. Probably will go with Geico

Currently it is $56 for six months. My understanding is that it will rise slightly over the years but still be way less than an extended warranty. $250 per incident is a tad high for a copay but not if you view this as relatively inexpensive disaster insurance.

Coverage is just about everything sitting behind the OEM warranty. https://www.geico.com/auto-insurance...own-insurance/

Thanks, went with Geico, have asked dealer to cancel the EasyCare Stated Care warranty as it didn't cover the hybrid drive components not to mention it was more expensive up front.

Nice. Hopefully neither of us will ever find out if it was necessary.

I'm waiting on delivery of an M550, which seems to be stuck in QC status, but, in answer to your Extended Warranty IMHO and past experiences it's money very well spent. I just sold my '13 F13 because its BMW extended Warranty expired and it had way too many issues, the new one will be covered under GEICO's MBI which is available to Policy holders for a nominal fee.

Yes, GEICO plan makes more sense, the EasyCare Stated Care did not cover the hybrid drive systems. Now I am going through cancellation hell, obviously it is not in their interest so even though they sent me a cancellation confirmation, when I followed up the policy was still active. To be fair it was only a couple of days since they initiated the cancellation so am giving them the benefit of doubt for now.
