Still no BCM. My 60-100, 60-110 times haven't changed from Stage 1 so I don't think Jb4 has done much. I'll log and see if the boost is any higher

Are you running pump gas on Map 2? IME, running MAP 2 w\pump gas on my F10 M5 w\o BCM would throw CEL. In any route, nice numbers! I'm picking up my new m550 next week and am on the fence between using my current JB4 (got firmware from Terry to be able to change from s63tu to n63tu) or go the Dinan route.

The maps are different on M550i I believe, even though I used the M5's jb4, it's additive and I'm hitting 16 psi. And man I think the jb4 definitely made a difference. This car moves.

I haven't. 1/4 mile numbers speak for themselves. I'm trapping about the same as a stock F10 M5, so my guestimate would be 500-530whp~

Use Launch control. I got 3.45 0-100km/h, 3.67 is pretty good, i just tried many times and let the car cool down in between

How do you activate the launch control.
I'm trying all possible ways and I can't get the flag popping on the dashboard as I had on my m5 . Couldn't find any info in the car manual as well .

Here is how to enter launch control:

First - you must drive the car normally for 6 miles - I think this is BMWs way to ensure you don't flog a cold car.

Switch the car into Sport Plus

Move the shifter itself over to Sport

Disengage the traction control by pressing it once - you should now be in Sport Traction mode. (Do not press and hold down the button for more than a few seconds which FULLY disengages all systems - just press it once)

Foot on brake

Foot on gas, all the way down. In a couple of seconds you should see the flag appear

Release foot on brake, feel face peel away.

I did, yes, but we still have to dial it in. In short - very smooth power delivery and seems to be more responsive than JB4. 100-200km/h, 60-130mph is still the same as Jb4 map 2 but i'm pushing around the same boost as map 2 16 psi. Will be pushing more soon when i'm back in the country.

Would you recommend JB4 over Stage 1 tune? Is there a very noticeable power difference? Any problems with it so far? I’m debating Stage 1 vs JB4 and Burger description freaks me out a little “Note these systems are BETA and the N63 and N63TU platforms do have various quarks and headaches when attempting to push higher power levels. See notes below for each application. We suggest these N63/N63TU JB4 systems for more experienced enthusiasts only who are not afraid to get their hands dirty, perform data logs, and fine tune things where appropriate.”
Sounds like a headache.
Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

I just installed the Speed-Buster in my M550. I haven't had a chance to really play with it much but soo far the App seems stable and no codes or odd car jerks.
Of note is that for the M550 at least, it is a 6 connection harness (5 sensors + power) and not the stated 3+power. Little more pain on install but more sensors the better in my book for piggyback systems.

Yeah i'd definitely recommend the JB4 over the stage 1, simply because you can push more boost in map 2 whereas the map 1 is equivalent to bms stage 1. With the bluetooth connect kit you can change the maps on the fly and log it anytime. Don't worry about the install, the only extra connector is the OBD one, rest is the same.

Thank you for the reply. It sounds like JB4 is the way to go from what I’m researching. Value is definitely on their side. Do you think you can get in to 10’s with just JB4 considering ideal conditions?

Hmmm could be possible if you can push more than 16 psi. On map 2 alone it would be hard, you'd get to 11.2's probably. Maybe with the BCM connections you'd be able to push more boost then it'd be possible.

JB4+downpipes should def get you into 10s.

Have you ever dyno your car? I'm very interested what does it really put down. The only dyno available is Dinan... According to horse power calculator it has about 488hp stock(12.3) and about 630hp tuned using your 1/4 time and trap time. (I used 4600lbs weight as a reference, reflecting driver and gas)

BMS Stage 1 Tune

I just installed my BMS Stage 1 tune and now have the emissions light on in my dash. Are they related or is it a separate issue. Any one else have this come up?

Thats odd, unless you have catless downpipes that doesnt seem to make any sense. Unrelated
