Ordering a M550xi

The wife's lease is up in three months and we just started looking for a replacement. It is a bummer that they don't do the pull ahead lease program anymore.

We were just offered this lease on ordering a 2019 M550xi
Black Sapphire
White/Stone interior
Piano black trim
Lux, PAP, 668's, Prem 2, Exec, heated front/wheel, ceramics

MSRP: $82,145
Sale Price: $73,850
Rebates: $3,500
Cap Cost: $70,350
Factor: .00142 after MSD’s
Residual: 59% for 12,000 miles per year
MSD’s: $5,950
Drive Off Fees: $3,958.55
Base Payment: $782.02
Monthly Tax: $67.26
Total: $849.28

From what I have seen so far, this seems to be a good deal. I think the announcement of the 2020 with more hp is going to drive the 19 550 market down a bit.

Thoughts?

I can't imagine paying over $500 per month for a car plus insurance, gas and maintenance.

That may be it, but some folks here walk away with scary high monthly car notes. Just an observation...

Just signed/picked up a Mediterranean Blue M550 last night. I thought it was a very fair deal.

MSRP 80970
Discount 6370
Rebates 4500 Loyalty 2k, Lease 1500k and Auto Show 1k
5k down and 5600 in MSDs. Apparently they are allowed in MN now as well.
MN tax is a little above 7% on the entire lease payment.
Payment $799
Add Tire and Wheel for 726 brings the final payment to 822.08.

Edit: 3 year 10k mile lease.

Could anyone elaborate for me why is it a good idea to put cash down in excess of $5K - $6K for a car that technically is not yours and would have nothing to show for at the end of the lease?

I though financial advisors argued against putting down thousands on a lease which essentially is a long term rental...

That's fine and all. Understand your payment reflects a 2.5-3x cheaper car (factoring money down) Also used and not new.

Excellent purchase and fantastic deal!

BMWs you lease brand new and buy CPO.

A car with 10K miles is still brand spanking new. Enjoy!

Apologies about the offtopic but I envy the prices you have in the US.

Basically most of you do pay lease amount for M550i as sizable as my payment for i3s here in Poland

Cheers

Very true about the grass!

I don't know about the month off, but free healthcare is nice as long as you live long enough to receive it due to queues

Ending the OT, cheers

Was the wheel and tire insurance purchased through the dealer.

If you can send and details my way I’m picking my car up in a few days and they are charging me way more. I’d like any leverage I can get.

Thanks

Jeff

Some people have no problem signing away their lives and future financial stability with some of the cash down and monthly payments I see in this thread. I don't care what people do with their money or how manage or mismanage their finances but it is a worrying trend. Just saying...

It’s not a good idea to do so but some people feel better with the idea of a future lower payment by risking their cash at inception.

Also, you have a lot to show for leasing a car. First, you save on the depreciation and you could buy the car if you wish to.

Most people who can afford to spend this type of cash on a lease already have solid plans and reserve for retirement. So stop it.
