Just posted this in another thread but figured I'd update here, too.

I got the Dr. Colorchip stuff this week and got aroudn to applying it last night. Actually found two other nicks on the front edge of my hood while I was addressing the bigger chip.

This stuff is great! Spot on match for my Azurite Black. You do need to be diligent about keeping things clean and being patient - the key seems to be letting the solutions work with each other and not relying on physical pressure when wiping off the excess.

The two smaller chips are completely invisible after just a single coat unless you're looking for them and have your face at a certain angle about 6 inches away. The one larger chip I did three coats on so far. It went from being a white fleck you could spot from anywhere to virtually invisible as well 95% of the time - if you know it's there you can spot it from about 2-3 ft away and only from certain angles.

I'm sure the results would have been even better had I polished the area a bit before applying, as the rock kind of crinkled up the clear coat around it. But I don't have a polisher yet, so skipped that step. Still really impressed - might add a fourth coat to level it out even more, but also trying to stick to the "less is more" philosophy and just let it cure, then top it with sealant/wax to see if that conceals it enough.

TL;DR - Really happy with these results. There's enough paint/solution to address probably 100+ more small chips (even with multiple coats), so this one $80 order is likely to go a very, very long way.

thanks gooselee, when installing my painted reflectors i every so lightly nicked a veryyy small piece of paint off right by the reflector on the bumper. not really a big deal, and didn't want to touch it up since it would make it worst, but dr . paintchip is exactly what i wanted but could not find. to be able to fill it in then wipe it off.

You're welcome! For small, out-of-the way stuff like that, I think it's perfect.

I can tell why many people say proper prep and lots of patience are the key factors. You really need to make sure you've created a clean surface for the paint to bond to, and if you rub too hard with the SealAct stuff, it affects the leveling abilities. Light and slow is the ticket when doing the leveling wipe.

Hi Gooselee,
Congrats for your new car
Could you please let me know if you have the tailpipe trim black chrome ? If yes, could you please let me know the dimensions ? I want to change my tailpipe trim chrome on my 530e (Pack M) but my dealer said the black ones are bigger than mine.
Thanks

Thanks!

Um...I just have whatever tailpipes came standard on the MY19 M550i . They are kind of the darker metal on the trapezoid surrounding two relatively standard exhaust ports within.

Looks like this: https://st.motortrend.com/uploads/si...with-hills.jpg

If it will help I'll go out later today and take a photo of them with a tape measure.

Does this help? Apologies the tape is off a bit in one of them - was squished between the car and garage door.
