Option Z06, Part #1712430993 are Black Kidney Grilles.

If you don't order that, they are gray.

They are super easy to replace with OEM ones and cheaper. Literally 30 seconds each.

caveat: if you have nightvision, the camera is built into the grill so you can't replace it.

The Night Vision camera actually does detach from the grille, so you can swap them, you just have to make sure to order the new one with the opening for the camera so you can reattach it.

Interesting. I didn't know that. When I ordered my car I was told that I could not get nightvision with the black grills.

I had the same concerns, as it isn't offered by BMW and my DIY painting skills aren't exactly decent lol. Thankfully, IND offers them pre-made

The grills are super easy to install yourself. I purchased high gloss black kidney grills for my car off of ebay for only like $90 CDN (~$70 USD) and the quality on them is actually pretty good. You would not be able to tell that it wasn't an OEM part.

my m550i came with the cerium gray grills - debating if i should change it or not since its an exclusive grill color for the m550i and it matches the mirrors and bumper trim.

I changed all the gray trim out to black and carbon fiber. Car is Alpine White

The black grills are a port install I believe. Regardless, just have the factory do it. My dealer threw them in with the deal.

If you're going to do the grilles, may I suggest the front finishers & side vents in black to go along with the grilles.

Mine is also AW, and that's what I did, along with painting the rear diffuser in black, and wrapping the roof in black. Very pleased with the look.

Left my "exclusive" color on the mirrors, as it matches the rims which I love, and certainly won't change.

Agreed! Thankfully my vehicle came with the high gloss finish for all of the items you listed. They should make the grills black too upon selection of this option though.
