A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

That's what it is showing when I go on there. So, not sure if they were able to secure funding, and or restructured, or were bought out. Their website seems business as usual...

Bavarian Autosport Update

If you are a BMW enthusiast, BavAuto is the name you’ve known since you were old enough to begin day dreaming about your first project car. They were, and always will be, the gold standard. Anyone serving the BMW and MINI communities – including all of us at ECS – took inspiration and motivation from BavAuto’s four decades of commitment to doing things right. They approached the business of selling parts to enthusiasts with the passion it deserves, and in doing so set a high bar for every member of our industry.

While we were shocked and disappointed to learn BavAuto was closing its doors, we are excited to play a role in helping the BavAuto name and legacy to live on in the community.

While ECS could not provide a lifeline to save the business, we purchased certain assets from BavAuto and worked on a plan to help maintain BavAuto’s legacy.

We also decided to assist BavAuto’s customers during the transition by:

- Honoring all BavAuto gift cards through April 30, 2019.
- Providing warranty support for Bavarian Autosport branded merchandise
- Maintaining BavAuto's longstanding support for BMW CCA chapters across the country
- Continuing to stock Bavarian Autosport branded parts on ECS Tuning.com

We’re saddened for the BavAuto team and their families. We’d welcome the opportunity to speak with any BavAuto associates about open positions in our family of brands.

BavAuto has been a pillar of the BMW and Mini communities for years, and we extend our sincere appreciation to them for being pioneers in our industry.

Best Regards,
ECS Tuning
