hi

My rear window switch (drivers side) to control the window go up and down has gone and i need a replacement. I can control the window from drivers seat panel but not from rear door (hence conclusion why switch has damaged and as shown on diagnostics)

Does the door panel need to come off for this to be replaced?

no it does not.
When you receive replacement switch, look how locking tabs are sitting against door panel - it will be obvious which site to leverage with plastic tool and switch comes out
