G30 M550 with aftermarket exhaust

Hey all, Newer G30 M550 owner, I've been debating "help" the sound of this amazing car with an aftermarket exhaust. AC & Remus both sound amazing but come at cost. They also impact the cars warranty, Dinan doesn't, but i've heard the sounds isn't a large enough gain.

I guess my questions are: Anyone with a Dinan able to post as to the true sound gains. And, folks with other aftermarket exhausts, what has your service & warranty experience been?

Cheers,

Cheers,
Recently, I had my 540i xDrive M-Sport (pre-LCI) installed with a Remus (cat-back) Sport exhaust system at an authorized BMW dealer. Although, I was informed the "cat-back" exhaust system should not impact the new car warranty unless the catalytic converter is removed and replaced with an aftermarket "catted or catless" downpipe or any ECU tuning for that matter.

As for the exhaust note/sound, any audio recording out there will not provide you with that true reproduction of sound when compared in-person experience. Basically, the recorded sound clips out there are pretty much in providing you with general idea of what the vehicle will sound like after the install. Just my very small $0.02 cents.

The Dinan axle-backed exhaust does not produce the sound gain that some of competitors produce. So look elsewhere if you want high volume of sound gains on the exhaust alone. But combine it with a resonator delete and the Dinan x-pipe, I find it to be perfect low tone balanced exhaust note. Plenty of refined volume. Just right for a V8 M550 luxury sedan. Can’t comment on your warranty question. I have already thrown the dice with a tune.

Warranty is only affected if you are asking the dealer to fix a problem that's caused by your mod. The exhaust does not put any additional stress on other car components, the chances of an exhaust causing any damages are 0%

No need to worry about warranty no matter which exhaust you choose, get the one you like best. REMUS sounds the best in my opnion

So, I was just at the local dealership and can confirm, that so long as the stock cats are not touched an axle back system will in no way impact the factory warranty!

Now on the hunt for a Remus axle back set up!

FYI, an axle back exhaust system requires cutting rear section of the pipe to replace w/ the axle back system, whereas "cat-back" exhaust system requires no cutting...just replace/install the system w/ few supplied clamps.

Axle back will make much less of a difference than catback. Even the midpipe component alone makes a bigger difference than the muffler for this car imo

MLIFEM550 please let me know where you purchase from; Remus Direct, local BMW dealership, Ebay or other OL store: AutoTalent seems to have good prices.

Post up, your findings!
