F30 Sedan will be out this year!
http://www.worldcarfans.com/11002192...ter-spy-photos
The current generation C-Class has already been on the market since 2007, and in this competitive segment it needs to keep a fresh face. Both the next-generation BMW 3-Series and a facelifted Audi A4 are expected later this year. The facelifted C-Class will go on sale later this year, likely before BMW introduces the new 3-Series. Just to let you know..

My 0.02, it is doubtful. BMW uses a 7 model year (MY) lifecycle. The E90 was initially released as a 2006 MY, so MY 2012 will be the last year of the E90 with the arrival of the F30 as a 2013 MY.

I think it will be a year later than that. The LCI is only a year old.

LCI was introduced in MY 2009, not MY 2010.

+1, it's almost a known fact that the decision has been made to cut the lifespan of the E9X short by one year and introduce the F3X as a MY2012 due to the Audi A4 beating them in sales in the European market

so if this F30 sedan comes out in 2011 as a 2012...
you really think the F32 will be out in 2012 as a 2013 model year? That seems insane with the E92 LCI not even out yet....less than 2 years before a complete redesign? |

It's also very possible that cycle will be broken this time around, but that's a much different conjecture to make.

Sales were flat for the E65/E66 and at the time the new S-Class was out selling it. That did not shorten the life cycle of 7-Series. It still ran it's course of 7 years before the F01 was introduced as a 2009 MY. Yes, the 3-Series is BMWs bread & butter, but I have a difficult time believing they would rush a new model. As previously mentioned the E90 LCI has on been out for two model years, judging from the past that leaves two more model years before the introduction of the F30.

+1, back in the times, competition between the s-class and the old 7 series was completely different due to the economy

Edit: The state of the economy has not affected a potential 7-Series buyer as much as it has a 3-Series buyer. Totally different income ratios. A large part of 7-Series sold are cash purchases whereas the 3-Series is leased or financed.
BTW, the current S-Class was still outselling the new 7 last year per sale numbers. The last I had read that has changed. Last edited by SCA; 02-28-2010 at 11:08 PM.. |

Absolutly BS !!!
The F30 comes out in September 2011 as an 2012 Model ... it will be the highlight of the BMW 2011 IAA Frankfurt Show ... no chance that they bring the car in 2010 The F30 was original planed for release in spring 2012 and now comes an half year earlier. Uli_HH |

Look, if BMW needs to take an extra year to make sure the car doesn't look like the new 5 series I think we should give them that year!

Additionally, jopa is right. 7 series owners are more typically leasers than they are buyers, because they enjoy the ability to swap out their cars sooner just as much as the next guy. Unless you work for BMW and you know what the release schedule is, this statement is farce, and making such a matter-of-fact statement in a public forum probably isn't wise if you *are* an employee.
