I have been invited by BMW Ireland to a few hours at a track in a couple of weeks to get demos of the semi-autonomous functionality of the G30 (and they're throwing in a few laps of the circuit in M cars with a professional driver for good measure!!!!).

Hi. I had a test drive in G30 with autonomous parking and it's really amazing. I tried it 5 times in row lenghtwise and it parked perfectly.
I felt like in scifi ) Car had only laneassists so when I was on highway it just slightly vibrated and pushed to steeringwheel when I have been leaving line a bit.. |

Really cool stuff! I can see it being great in specific circumstances but I still prefer to pilot my machine manually . Not quite ready to hand over my joy of all driving to a computer yet.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to provide such great documentation!
Oh, and for confirming I don't want about 50% of that autonomous technology either.

Tech looks really cool, but are you f***ing kidding me with that key? It's HUGE! I guess cargo pockets are gonna have to make a strong comeback. Or fanny packs.

Definitely a cool feature which I could see come in handy for many people. But that key is gigantic!

Thanks for all comments. Yes, the key is big. As big as I always held him in my hand, because there was no more space in any pocket.
If there are any questions about the car, please ask. |

Question about Parking Assistant...
I never cared much for the concept of driving assist, always thought if you couldn't stay in your lane or parallel park you don't deserve to drive a nice car... no offense... Anyway I was fine with getting Parking Assistant since it was free, but since I never thought about buying Driving Assist Plus or II, I never noticed that Parking Assistant "Plus" was free as well. So what is the difference? And if it is "better", why do they bother to have both options? I'd obviously feel foolish not to take any better free options to improve car value, even if I never used it. ? |

That is the gauge cluster I'd wait for if I was buying a new 5. The hybrid LCD-plastic cluster the US gets at launch is kind of fugly. I wonder when and how this cluster will be announced as available in the US. :
The "music" in the video actually made me laugh out loud.
