I liked the real worldness of it. Too many reviews are just listings of the spec sheets or unfettered praise of the car or features. They aren't real critical reviews. So it's refreshing when you hear a real criticism or comparison...

The G30 is what the F10 should have been. Wish they hadn't stayed with a conservative design, but at least the G30 looks good.

yes I thought it was one of the better reviews out there. I'd have like more though. teh guy stated he had driven thsi car for 2500 miles so figured he might have more to say about it.

pick up that it had £20000 worth of options added, so presumably a "press car".
Those must be a nice purchase on the second hand market as there must be very few cars like those in the UK.

I'm hoping to get a drive in a 540i around April time when my local dealership gets one in.(apparently the first cars they are getting in are all diesels)

agreed - it's always a shame when the better reviews don't draw it out a bit.

My head was telling me to wait until they came on the second hand market but I was too fearful that not enough people would spec the driving assistant plus, which is the key feature I want. I've been scouting for F10s and F31s with that or the ACC for ages, but can never find them...

yes acc on the f10 appears to be rare. there is the tell tale sign of a different grill under the bumper so once you know what to look for it is easy to tell.

I have it and use it a lot and would option the driving assistent plus on the g30 which I am planning for next year.

I think BMW have made enough of a deal out of it now that enough people will spec it tbh. You may be in luck with a pristine piece in a year or so's time.

I just couldn't wait any longer. The E61 is showing its age...

Any chance BMW will offer different wheel option next model year for 530 and 540? This one is so bad. Too many spokes. 5 is the prefect one I think.

I know I can sell the factory wheels and buy new wheels, but it will cost me more money than just have it from factory.

Seriously, people didn't buy ACC on their F10s in the UK?

I am Norwegian and working as sales rep in a BMW dealership. I think our take rate for ACC is at least 75%.

I agreee - not sure why they have so many spokes on ever wheel option. Looks more luxury to me than sporty. I like the old M-Sport wheels better and also like the E Class sport wheels better too.

Mercedes interior designer got really lazy with that dash. Good to see a review that isn't by the numbers

The one on M550i is prefect. I like these 5 spokes wheel. 437m on f8x, 442m on f3x. The one I don't know name of, on the m5/6.
Okay, it is called 343m

M550 is really pointless for this generation.
Think about how much is F10 550i plus M pkg, almost hit the basic M5 with incentive price. The only reason to chose F10 550i over M5 is F10 550i has XDrive, which F10 M5 doesn't.

But G30 M5 has been announced it is gonna have XDrive version, and i believe M550i price is crazy and unacceptable compare to G30 M5.

However MB has done a smart move, they make all 43 models as an AMG officially now.

Honestly, I would take E43 AMG over 540i + M PKG with almost the same price.

Am I the only one that thinks the e class looks worse externally than it's predecessor?

Uhhh... what? An M550xi today starts for the same money that a 550xi with M Sport did before. Look it up. Loaded it's more, sure, but you're getting things you couldn't get before. And a loaded M550xi costs less (or worst case the same) as the upcoming M5 with zero options. That's how it is with most models. (330 to 340 to M3, etc.). Not everyone needs the 600hp track version of the car. Also, the M550xi costs the same as that AMG43 Benz, maybe even less with options, despite the ass whupping it would place on the Benz. If anything the M550xi and Audi S6 make the Benz the worst value in the class, as both would curb stomp the E43.

E43 AMG against 540 M pkg, because they are all 6 cylinders and about the same performance numbers.

M550 is killing E43, no matter on paper or on the track.
