The O1 revision (380hp) isn't emissions compliant worldwide. They might use the O1 for the 540i in NA markets but they aren't for the 740, X5, X7. At least not yet.

Anyone have ideas or knowledge what merino interior they are mentioning will be new? I thought you could previously do individual two tone merino but I am hoping for an all black ideally but they may just be referencing old options.
I need me some order guides! |

The price for an M5 is a bit more complex when leasing when you consider the delta in residual and factor in that the M5 has been getting another $5k in incentives that the M5c doesn't. 2019 M550i Base $74,450 and 60% residual + $1500 lease credit 2019 M5 Base $102,700 and 55% residual + $5000 lease credit 2019 M5c $110,000 and 55% residual + $0 lease credit |

BMW has a very clear strategy in mind, which I covered in my post. They are not going to update everything to the M1 only to have to go and do it again with the O1 in a couple short years. If the O1 were in the cards, it’s already in the parts bin today, and they’d be installing it now if it were part of their strategy. For now, if you want more power, the M550i is there. And if you look at what BMW’s competition is doing, there is plenty reason to be thankful. Your alternate choices are the 450hp V6-powered S6 or the 429hp I6-powered E53. BMW doesn’t need a second six cylinder model because they instead offer a second V8 model that buries the competitors. Now, a potential 545e PHEV would make some sense as a step-up model, but there is no evidence of that either (though it at least has a chance since it fits into their product matrix). Further out, the next generation I6-equipped G60 5 Series is sure to have more power from a further evolved B58 (a TU2 in BMW parlance), perhaps close to what today’s O1 produces. But an O1 equipped G30, be it a 540i, an M540i, or any other name we could dream up is almost surely not happening. |

It is true that the O1 requires additional emissions equipment in WLTP nations which reduces its output slightly (by 8hp). This is the case for the M340i and will also be the case for the other M Performance vehicles I just named above. The Z4 M40i is an outlier - a special case where the M1 stands in for the O1. It is unknown why, but educated speculation is that the additional emissions equipment required for WLTP is incompatible with the Z4 packaging. So, BMW could put the O1 in every model in the range in any country. But they aren’t. And they aren’t because that’s not how they designed the product hierarchy. |

Rims and CCB alone is about 70lbs now all they need to add sport seats which can save at least 80lbs don't need massaged thick seats!!!!! Carbon hood and trunk and titanium exhaust.... and here you go at least 200lbs less https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=23889785
